How good is 2009 shaping up for boxing so far?

Money issues and catchweights aside, it seems like a really exciting time for boxing.

At the lower weights we have 3 P4P ranked fighters in Calderon, Donaire and Darchinyan, and all of them have good fighters to face that are not each other.

The lightweight divisions are just stacked with talent with Valero, Diaz, Khan, Linares

In the welterweights 4 or 5 P4P ranked fighters! (if we count PBF)

Middleweight divisions are also stacked (Pavlik, Froch, Abraham, maybe Dawson? Williams) with almost any combination being a potential great fight.

In the recently weak HW division we have Haye who could breathe some new life into it.

I've been a casual fan for a long time and it's only now that I've really started watching fights that are not mega fights so I can't really say, but it does seem to be a really good time to be a boxing fan.

    Thoughts?

great, if only it finishes off with pac-mayweather, mayweather-mosley or pac-mosley it would be the best.

If it wasn't for money, we'd have tons of incredible fights....

Fantastic year for Boxing, the sport is on a high and we are entering into a new era of mega fights in the welterweight division like in the eighties, what with Manny, Floyd, Mosley, Marquez Williams and Cotto! Who will emerge on top?

If Haye can KO the Klitschko bros, and Mayweather get's to fight Pacquiao (Hopefully in Wembley!) Boxing will be King of the hill in sports... and officially Back!!!

Heavy divison is really looking up . The klitschko dominance , fight Haye, and the a Fury good prospect , who knows maybe the McCalls would attempt to both be champs at the same time .

Also the other Giant , all he needs is one devistating KO . who knows

then theres the Jones Jr vs Silva or Hopkins vs Silva . just kidding , Hopkins vs Jones Jr really could be there final winner take all at heavy weight .

I would also like to see Vitali call out Valuev like no one has ever before .

Remember 2007? Everyone said well never beat that year! Boxing is dying! Bla bla bla! Even Joe C said boxing was on a nose dive. And as soon as Joe left 168 has become a hotbed of exciting fights! Boxing is doing great. This sport isnt going anywhere!!!!
