I cant undersand how anybody can say something as stupid as this?

    mind-blowing!

all I can think of is:
    A. your being a douche (almost certainly)
    b. You have no MMA knowledge
    c. your a crack baby and have limited comprehension abilities and I should feel sorry for you.:|

................... im gonna chose D. all of the above.:hi:

couture has a bad record, I remember the thread of who in mma has faced the toughest competition?, and most said it was big nog. Antonio minotauro Nogueira does not have a record that bad, and thats because he is a more skilled fighter than randy.

It is not all about your wins/losses numbers in this case couture's record is bad.... but not but not the best indicator of his abilities.

that is not to say that he is among the best lhw or Hw on the planet because he certainly is not and may have never been.

well that chuck liddel victory was something special and he did have some exiting battles but thats the one that really was impressive.

people need to remember that the guys best win record was 4 fight win streak, and was not stopped either time by top competition first time was (enson Inoue 98 and Valentijn Overeem 2001)

he can be great when he is on, and not so impressive when he is off. He is simply an inconsistent fighter.

Definetly shows what kind of man Rndy is....One that will get back up after falling down numerous times...The blokes mental toughness and dedication is mind blowing..

47 year old and look at the shape he comes in..I got to meet him(well tried to) here in Sydney and though the stupid security at UFC 110 wouldnt let me near him he still gave me a thumbs up.lol...

No I look at Fedor's record since he defeated Mirko Crop Cop in 2005 and his performances in those fights through something other than rose tinted glasses. I love Fedor the fighter, and his Pride fights are amazing. But I struggle to see how anybody cannot be disappointed/frustrated by his failure to take on top competition in the past five years. A failure that has resulted in him fighting in smaller organisation against inferior fighters for less money rather than go to the UFC in 2009.

I love the way you "objective UFC" fans sprinkle your posts with a few smatterings of objectivity such as "i loved PRIDE" or "i love Fedor" and then casually rubbish he's body of work with the most irrational logic repeating by wrote the same bollocks from the UFC PR machine.

Now "where" exactly was this top competition five years ago? Lets look at the current UFC scene shall we. First off Valasquez Brock and JDS hadnt even turned pro yet. Carwin didnt become a name until the UFC PR machine got behind him much the same way they did with Brock. Either way NO ONE was clamouring for these fights because A) None of the above bar one had even turned pro yet and B) No one had even heard of Shane Carwin.

Ah but you say what about Frank Mir or Randy Couture. Well Randy and Fedor were more than content to get it on but Dana White nixed that and the two went to court. As for Frank Mir well the problem there was Fedor doesnt fight for brand UFC and Dana would not let his fighter fight outside of his organisation. Odd precedent as he allowed Liddell to when he came to PRIDE and got his ass kicked. Hey ho...

Now since 05 Fedor has faced the best competition outside of the UFC that was available. He beat 3 former UFC champions in that period. Is it honestly an objective enough opinion to rubbish that accomplishment?

But what about Barnett? Well we know what happened there dont we. The fight was signed. Barnett was caught on gear the bout was scuppered and Affliction folded. Fedor goes on to sign with SF and fights the best competition available to him in that org. He destroys Rogers and looses to Werdum. The same Werdum who destroyed Vera and Gonzaga went on to loose to JDS and then Dana tried to jack lay him with by trying to cut his contract in half. And thus the most significant fight in all of MMA didnt happen under the UFC banner but instead Dana sold you and fans of your ilk Carwin Lesnar instead.

Now you claim that Fedor was fighting outside of the UFC for less money? Newsflash skippy Fedor was making $2m a fight when he was in Affliction. He makes far more money outside of the UFC and as a partner with M-1 than he would have made with the slave contract Dana wanted him to sign for. So when your ready to talk facts lets talk turkey. Flat out lies have no place here unless you're working for the UFC hype machine.

So as i already said Fedor has ONE legitimate loss in a decade and UFC schill like you are still grinding the same bull**** axe Dana's been grinding since PRIDE's demise. Now thats disappointing.

who have these other heavywieghts beat that can compare to fedor in that period?

when you say top competition you mean simply the ufc fighters.

Josh barnett, alistair overeem, and big foot silva are top comp. and of course werdum. three of these guys are listed in the top ten heavyweights(only barnett because he tested positive for steroids, did not make the list)
    This content is protected
lets not pretend that fedor does not have comp to keep him busy for the next year or so.

I like how you respond to my saying "Fedor hasn't faced top competition" by then listing four fighters he's never fought (not solely down to him I admit). And yes, since the collapse of Pride I do mean the UFC - that is where the top fighters now compete. Even more so now that there's no Affliction to chuck money at name fighters. I mean look at the eight fighters he fought between Cro Cop and Werdum:

    • Zuluzinho, Melvin Manhoef and Hong-Man Choi were special attractions with more losses than victories
    • At the time of their second fight, Mark Coleman was nearing forty and had long since passed his peak as a fighter.
    • In the fight prior to facing Fedor, Mark Hunt had been quickly defeated by Josh Barnett.
    • Matt Lindland usually fights at middleweight, not heavyweight
    • In his three fights before facing Fedor, Tim Sylvia had gone 1-2 having been defeated by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria and Randy Couture
The only legit. heavyweight who went into his fight with Fedor on a good run of form was Arlovski. Anyone who tries to say otherwise is deluded. And the post-Fedor records of those fighters underlines that they weren't top fighters when they fought Fedor.
