Well he's a boxer/wrestler so it should come as no surprise he preferes to punch on the ground and from memory only the Forrest fight was finished on the ground. Hard to submitt someone who's already knocked out. But he likes to keep it on the feet And I dont think Rolles Gracie is in the habit of giving away black belts
if your in the gym every day 8 months is acceptable for blue belt. blue is probably the easiest belt to obtain. Its hard to hold someone back when theyre absolutely smoking the other white belts. I think loyd irwin promises a blue belt in 30 days which seems pretty extreme to me.
The 8 months was based on a once or twice a week class structure. I remember getting into an argument with a guy who was trying to defend it. 8 months is quick, but doable if you train heaps, 30 days is obscene.
Weird, as I think Rashad has a bit of a glass jaw. The punch from Rampage that gave him the old spaghetti legs seemed to be a pretty innocuous, grazing shot. Maybe if Davis knocks him out he'll start unleashing the jits in future fights.
He normally uses his speed/wrestling to compensate. Would be interesting to see him on his back as its rare he's put there. Bring on Jon Jones
