Ya, Bute really doesn't have many options in the division because of the Super Six. It's like he was the odd man out.

He was not invited but you're right, he doesn't have many possibilities. On the other hand, some of the super six have already lost a lot. Taylor, Kessler, even Froch. If we're talking rankings, Bute has not lost ground because of that.

It wasn't a star making performance simply because he beat him (he already did that once, and quite convincingly before fading toward the end and running into that scare, now controversial but academic in the wake of the rematch) - it was a star making performance because he did a chop/drop/mop/stop job on a guy you're not supposed to be able to do that to, even at the elite level (chopped him up, dropped him, mopped the floor with him, and stopped him). Beating Andrade is one thing. Completely dismantling and knocking him out? Another.

Andrade is no great shakes and should've been and was dominated by a guy like Bute, who I view as a real good fighter. Everyone in SMW has a spotty resume, but it should all be hashed out in the 2 or 3 years, because that division is shaping up to be one of the best and most exciting with a lot of great fights on the horizon.

Well he has a win over the current WBO champion, and he took some of the worst shots ive ever seen against kessler and kept on coming foward like the terminator lol.

So hes a very good win. The win legitimized bute as having a real claim to being the champ at 168.. not to mention he is now the longest reigning champ at 168 :hey

I think everyone is still excited at how he stopped andrade. The dude could take a punch and he stopped him via body shot. I don't think his the best super middleweight but he is up there with the top 168 lbs in the world.

The way Bute decimated Zuniga made me sit up and take notice. One guy out boxed Zuniga, and one guy stopped him on cuts, but nobody ever just handed him his ass the way Lucian did.

The controversey that surrounded Bute/Andrade I was a bit silly. Andrade came out of the neutral corner before the ref told him to, and the rules state clearly that such an action stops the count. That's really a moot point now. Andrade is about as close to un-knockout-able as any active fighter. Bute tore him up quick in the rematch. How you win fights is important, and Lucian left no doubts about who the better man is.

In the mean time I watched the performances of all six participants in sauerland's tournament, and was not impressed by any of them. Taylor is shot to ****. Abraham is still just a crude slugger. Froch is still the clumsiest guy in the business. Dirrell still trips over his own damn feet. Kessler looked badly faded, and Ward is a disgrace to the sport.

Those of us who are Lucian Bute fans should not have to defend him for any reason at this point. Nor should we have to engage in a debate with "boxing fans" who are incapable of recognizing talent. On a head to head basis he's the number one man in the division, and that is obvious.

To be fair, Andrade has a much better resume then Miranda in term of wins.

He beat Mack who is a legitimate contender at 175lbs.
He best Stieglitz who is a world champion
He beat Tsypko who is a skilled southpaw that could be top10ish if he wasn't so damn inactive.

Miranda's best win is Allan Green. That's it.

Andrade has not ben KO`ed EVER before not even by Kessler who was the ONLY OTHER boxer who defetead him.The actual WBO champion, Stiegliz was KO`ed by Andrade. And, as someone said, to be KO`ed in the
4th is not good for your mexican boxer reputation.
As I said on other thread, the Board of Teh Ring voted with 5-1 to pass Bute on the top spot after this fight. Box Rec did the same.
So please don`t hate because is not your favorit though I don`t care how many amators on this forum are gelous on Bute.
So, when professionals talk and say Bute is yhe momentan No. 1 in SMW, please keep the proper silent attitude.

Bute was already top 2 in the division before he beat Andrade so i don't know what the **** you guys are on about? It didn't catapult him anywhere it simply moved him up one spot.

Andrade is very good and still quite underrated as pressure fighters are always overlooked. I didn't change my opinion one bit just because Bute made a huge statement. The KO was not on the table if you followed the 168 divison closely in the last few years. Andrade still only lost to two elite level boxers, and he beat everyone else in dominant fashion. He's just not flashy to make Sunday fans go "wow".

But his resume is not at all bad. He stopped Robert Stieglitz the current WBO champ, stopped Yusaf Mack, a current top LHW contender, Otis Grant, a former champ and punished the very solid Vitali Tsypko (who beat Jeff Lacy but got jobbed) for 12 rounds.

Quite interestingly, Librado looked much better in the rematch up to the stoppage and everyone started to wonder what happens if Lucian can't do something dramatically soon. He did, he knocked him out. That's as impressive as knocking Glen Johnson out. So far only Hopkins could do that, and I wouldn't be surprised if Andrade retires with that sole stoppage loss. And with a world title on his resume. Like I said, he already beat Stieglitz, and I believe he can beat Gabriel Campillo, Jurgen Brahmer and probably Tavoris Cloud as well.

Read the next Ring magazine they suppose to have an interview with Bute's coach that explain why his energy level drop in the last round!

his coach didn't want him to fight Andrade because he wasn't 100% healty and Bute convince them to let him fight!

It's not Andrade that makes Bute as good as he is...It's just cause he was fighting on HBO that now many have actually seen him live instead of just throwing his name out there.

Fighters don't become good because of who they face, Bute was already a very skilled boxer.
