good fighter. very much slept on and unheard of by mainstream fans of the 168 division.. but a very talented hungarian 168 fighter. not sure how much backing he is getting for opponents but taking on mundines leftovers at the moment. as to balzsay the boxer, i have no idea about his chin as i have never seen him hit flush. as to his abilty about 6.0 /wiry build/southpaw/fast with both hands/power in both hands/natural flowing fighter/, nothing robotic his punches flow from either hand /quick feet/likes to be the ring general/good at cutting corners/good combination puncher/right hooks/left crosses/straight lefts/body work all precise and nicely punch picked. minus side. head a bit stationary, although he does look at whats coming and does slip with minumum of effort, so possibly i am doing him a diservice/chin not tested/does not jab enough or use the uppercut enough although he has them in his locker/level of opposition to fully asses him. how far will he go ? impossible to tell until his opposition has strated throwing punches back and his chin has been tested. but i will say this i do not expect him to lose to C level opposition his talent level IMO is high . a very natural fighter and being a southpaw with his style not an easy opponent for anybody. cant imagine when and if he gets to the top 10 there will be a host of champs willing to give him a title shot. i think he is the type of fighter promoters will say no thank you unless it is a mandatory because if he keeps on improving he is not a gimmee for anyone.
Thanks, sean; he sounds a bit like Bute, before he stepped up. The WBO want him to fight Pascal for the vacant belt. Can he beat Pascal?
2 untested fighters. pascal has abilty but i was not impressed with him when he fought on that miranda double header bill which was the last time i saw him. balzsay IMO could dominate ring center and match handspeed with pascal when pascal engages , so yes balzsay could beat him, but balzsay needs more experience v different styles before going for a title shot because even if he wins he will then be in at the deep end and might not oknow enough to cope with other fighters with different styles. i do not see pascal if he wins being anything more than an interim champ. bute is not a bad comparison, bute a little flashier but balzsay and bute do fight similar stylewise and tempo wise. bute might hit harder and is bigger built. i should have added balzsay might have shown some flaws in earlier fights he has had, and i have not seen or read about , so i am going on the very limited ammount i have seen of him.
Well, assuming he beats Pascal, he wouldn't have to fight the top guns, particularly with the WBO belt. He'd make a couple of easy defences and the only threat on the horizon would be someone like Inkin. In the meantime, he'd gain experience. The American prospects are not going the WBO route, it seems. Also, if he's good enough to beat Pascal, he'll gain experience in the saddle, just like Bute did, for example. No?
i think he is with kohl , so yes he could well face some dustmen , but he is relativley unknown in germany and it will be hard to sell him and make a lot of money out of him as a headliner top of the bill fighter until he is. saying that his style makes for good tv , and he could quite quickly catch on with the german public if his german language skills are good. he is much better to watch than erdei as he does not fight in second gear all the time but moves up and down when the oppurtunities arise. whether he will be as good as erdei is another matter.
by the way did you mean to this on the british section decebal ? would be better if you switched it to the european section as i doubt many people here would have ever heard of balzsay .
