He’s 2-3 fights away from challenging for the belt.

 

Plant shut out medina.

 

Plant isn’t ready for benevidez yet. I see plant out boxing benevidez until he gets tired. Not sure he could keep benevidez off of him either. Benevidez has a freak build and a lot of stamina. I’d like to see benevidez vs zurdo. I’d favor benevidez.

 

In a barehand streetfight he can’t keep the dude off of him. Strange to think dude doesn’t have any more power then that.

Honest observation of plant
He is one of my 5 fav fighters, Guy is slick and exciting to watch. Medina didn’t apply much pressure and it looked like plant was tired in the champ rounds. 2-3 more fights and he will be a tough out for any champ.

 

Yeah at least he had TDD but he should have been breaking that guy's jaw, teeth, nose, Ribs.

To be fair tho the street fight was completely one sided. Maybe Plant had training earlier that day and was already tired?

Ya but I don’t understand the lack of power. I been in over 50 street fights and after landing no more the 2-3 solid jabs 90% of those fights were over.

 

Benavidez is far from a pure boxer... hes a average boxer with very very good power.. someone with movement like plant or rameriz is gonna give him trouble.

 

usyk is one of my favorites.... lol inoue I believe is way overhyped didn't say he has no talent but I believe tete, thai guy Estrada all 50/50 vs him.. Benavidez is fine hes the 2nd best champ at 168.. I just think plant beats him to a Ud.

 

Im a Benevidez fan, but it's a fair observation that he hasn't faced a pure boxer with movement yet.

He's young and is still learning in the job, but it's something to keep an eye on in the future as it relates to his matchmaking. Keep putting him in with flat footed guys or ones who go in straight lines, and he'll look beastly. Someone with angles, lateral movement, and a good defense? We don't know what happens then. Not yet, anyways.
