How good is Callum Smith?

Better than Paul Smith.

 

Defence isn't very good but has the power to bail him out, especially his left hook to the body.

Hasn't faced a puncher yet so a lot depends on how solid his chin is

 

Better than your average up and down Gallagher fighter, but still fairly limited; zero head movement, mediocre jab, slow feet, very little trickery in his offensive arsenal (no lateral movement or feints). Relies heavily on size, and against Zurdo or Red Flag (both of whom are also huge SMWs) he could come a little unstuck.

Shame he's spent so long with Joe to be honest, had a more expansive trainer guided his career from an early stage he could be a very good fighter, he has a pretty sweet counter punching instinct that could have been used as the cornerstone of his fighting style.
