He's making his comeback soon, so I was just wondering how good he really is (I haven't seen his fights much). Could he beat guys like Arreola, Chambers or Haye?

    :think

He's just good all round really, decent chin, repsectable power and can box. Only real problem is his conditioning, not in terms of stamina but obviously he's prone to wear and tear. If he's fit and active though I think he's 3rd best in the division behind Vitali and Wlad. I also think he can beat all those guys, especially the first 2. Whether or not he would remains to be seen, if he's inactive and rusty going into the ring then I think Haye would stop him, if he's fit and active like I said I think he's got a very decent chance of decisioning him or possibly stopping him via TKO mid-to-late rounds when Haye tires.

IMO Chagaev was very good.. Today's version got problems with his eyes...

he cannot really see well on one eye (- 6,5 Dioptren), I think that he cannot make it to the top of the division anymore..

Today's Chagaev has problems with everything. He is a walking health risk.

Sad...he was looking pretty good for a while but he looked sluggish against Skelton...and how long has it been...and how many illness since then?

It would be optimistic to think he is going to do much.

He is pretty good, though like Valuev, most of his better wins came by split or majority decision, against guys like Valuev, Ruiz, and Virchis, the matches were very close and could of went either way.

Chagaev is a solid fighter, good chin, pretty good power, and decent head movement, and is one of the better hookers in the division. Though with recent health problems and the reluctance on his part to fight top contenders over the last 2 years, he has fallen in my rankings, and should remain their until he proves himself to be one of the best in the division again.

Aint that the truth, I read Mike Tyson was very angry about Chagaev using his name as a nickname. Tyson who is a good friend of Iggy, former WBO champ, petitioned the courts to be in Iggys corner for there scheduled fight a year and half ago, and claimed he would have words with Chagaev about it.

No way does haye stop ruslan. He is a big strong stout heavyweight with
a better than decent chin and enough power to KO any hvy( bar vitali )
His stamina is suspect towards the later rounds, but that wouldn't be an
issue w/ haye 'cause it wouldn't go passed 5. Chagaev is def the 3rd best
in the division. THere's a reason the Klits haven't called him out.

He used to be very good (one and a half year ago), but whether he still is remains to be seen. If he's as good as he was then, he easily beat Arreola (Chagaev's chin seems very sturdy and he's in a different class skill-wise), should beat Chambers and probably Haye as well.

    Good points,tffp!

Chagaev's health is a big big question mark!!!!!

A healthy version of Chagaev would be a mighty force at heavy weight though.

I would never consent to have that nickname. It reeks of imitation. And when you consider Chag's punching power, its a cheap imitation at that.

Ruslan "the walking plague" Chagaev don't want any part of the Klits. He's perfectly content getting injured and sick and fighting the likes of Skelton, Sprott, Ruiz and Valuev.

He is also going blind in his left eye.

When he was healthy and active, he was a legit top 5 guy. Not sure where he figures in anymore til he actually fights someone with a heartbeat
