Glazkov might have got through a tough 12 rounder to win.. but he's one of the top 10/15 heavyweights out there..
He's good, better than whyte. He drops the opposite hand when he throws single shots though, which will cost him against AJ IMO.
Joshua hardly looked terrible, and the only time he looked bad was from the 3rd to the 5th round, where he had completely punched himself out by throwing and loading up on almost 200 punches in the first 2 rounds.
joshua didn't look good against whyte at all i don't think he recovered well either, i just think on the night whyte didn't have that finishing instinct that obviously he needed to have, so cost him a stoppage win over aj. so for me, he didn't recover well at all i just think whyte let him off the hook
Joshua didnt punch himself out against whyte. The tank went empty when whyte landed his shot. Fair play to joshua for recovering but he did go a bit frank bruno on us for a bit. Problem with joshua is there concentrating too much on his athletism more than his boxing. Will cost him eventually. Theres a bit of khan about him. There just throwing punches without too much thought behind it. One thing martin is better than him at is he actually thinks a bit more in there. It ll be interesting to see if it can offset joshuas big athletic advantages. Saturday nite might actually tell us a bit more about dillon whyte. I rate him. Maybe a bit too slow but seems to have the basics down etc.
Whyte won a couple of rounds after he caught AJ with a counter which hurt him, he recovered and then Whyte got splattered. Whyte didn't let him off the hook, he just isn't as good as AJ quite simply. Martin was winning in his fight with Glazkov but it was a few rounds, you can't read how the fight would have panned out after that. More to the point, Glazkov isn't *that* good either. He was lucky in his decision against Cunningham. Beyond that, yeah he blasted out Dallas quicker than Price but so what? Dallas hadn't fought for ages and is club level. If we want to go down that route then note he took 10 rounds to get rid of Love when AJ took 2. There are question marks over both of them and this fight will at best only answer some of them. For what it's worth, I can't look past AJ winning this. I suspect by a KO but Martin may well have a solid chin
No he gassed as soon as Whyte landed the left hook If someone else had Joshua on the ropes like that I think theyd do better Whyte's punching technique was quite bad After that moment Joshua took 2 rounds to get his legs back Someone decent would have taken him out
Won't matter against martin. Martin looks like he moves about with cinder blocks on his feet, he also drops his opposite hand every time he throws a punch, makes him look like a novice, could be costly against AJ. Martin can punch though and is overall pretty decent, so I'm not writing him off.
I think AJ will win but I wouldn't put money on it because there is too much we don't know yet. If Martin is going to shuffle around the ring slowly and stand in front of Joshua making himself an easy target I can only see it going Joshua's way. I've only seen Martin against Glazkov so don't know how he'd fight against a big puncher.
pretty much agree with squire, martin could get an upset but its unlikely and there is still so much we don't know about joshua. i don't rate him myself, i do think he'll beat martin, but i think he will meet his match alot sooner than some think, i think parker beats him, ortiz beats him, fury beats him, and a fully fit less crude, whyte with a finishing instinct would beat him.
