Seriously he has done nothing to deserve what the other poster suggested that you fixed. His most memorable moment in boxing is getting SCHOOLED by Martinez. Seriously if he wants to be top 5-10 at SMW you earn it in the ring !

He's tough and has some pop not crazy power though. He was also out weighing his opponents by quite a bit before so IDK how his power will be against guys his own size or his durability. Fonfara is a real love contender at LHW and I'm surprised this is Chaves come back fight and I tip my hat off to him for it. But let's not jump the gun until he proves himself at the higher weights.

For MW and SMW that's accurate, for LHW he needs to prove the chin and the stamina. Footwork could be rated higher at LHW but it's not a big factor against Fonfara.

when things aren't stacked in his favor he is not particularly good. Maravilla, Vera 1 and Fonfara show what he looks like when the playing field is close to level.

He's good at MW and SMW. But you can't just go to LHW, fight one of the better guys and win. Anyone would have a pretty hard time doing it, including GGG and Canelo. He should have stuck with MW/SMW or built a LHW career more slowly. I guess he thought he could KO Fonfara and then just go against Stevenson or Kovalev for a title shot. One thing you shouldn't do in boxing is rushing your career before you are ready, just like rushing a KO before it's time can result getting KO'd - he experienced that with his career.

To me it seems like Chavez Jr. has been fighting at light heavyweight for years. However, tonight was the first time he fought a light heavyweight opponent.
