Where do you guys classify Daniel Jacobs at this stage in his career at middleweight? Do you think Jacobs is in the same league as middleweights like Toney, Benn, McCallum and Nunn? Personally I thought he fought dead even with Golovkin and is very good. I feel hes a good challenger for pretty well any middleweight and expect him to win his next fight.
Very much a true statement. I think Jacobs is the kind of guy who will hang with any middleweight at all. He would be one of the toughest fights in the career of any all time middleweight... Yet also feel he doesn't necessarily make it clear that he's above the level of some lesser opponents. He's basically a rock, and is hard for anyone to beat. Which is a great quality in a boxer
Not a dude that you match up with against historically great and relevant MW's, but he is a very good fighter at the least and one of the best MW's of the last decade (largely based on the Golovkin fight). We will see how well he does from here out.
Think he's overrated personally. Elite MW but not at a level where'd considsd him a p4p level fighter, though he's close. Actually think Derev will beat him.
This. You could see that he was geared up for GGG like never before and his performance was tremendous. I've seen other fights where he wasn't so impressive though. I think he's going to be in top shape for SD. He better be because Derevyanchenko doesn't mess around.
I think Daniel is a walking talking LHW and smashes all middleweights of today, bar GGG. I think roided he beats prime b hop too.
He is a good middleweight, I think he does well agains the current crop but he doesn’t seem to put all the individual pieces together. I think his concentration and lack of a concrete style is what leads him to under perform at times.
