No clue, haven't really seen him fight a live opponent yet. In theory he has all the tools and resources but haven't seen him quite put them together so far. If he wasn't Usyk's mate no one would have heard of him I reckon. But he is still a 6'6 light heavyweight who trains with Usyk and presumably has all the best training and resources so he could go far. I just saw that he is already 28, I thought he was way younger for some reason.
to be fair, Usyk won a world title at 29-30 so i think Lapin will be fine. I agree with you. He has lots of power, variation, speed and incredible height. I can see him being a nightmare in 2 years but he needs to fight better opposition.
I used to think he was very good, but I watched him against Colin, in the last rounds Colin roughed him up and Lapin looked clueless. Thus, I don't think he's great.
I think he'll make it into the Top 10, he's extremely tall, which is an advantage, but he lacks power, time will tell...
Thats what I was referring to in that he seems like he still needs to put it all together though he has the tools. If he were younger it would inspire a lot more confidence, but being 28 and still looking a bit lost is not a good sign. Looking forward to his fight though and seeing how he has improved.
