How good is David Benavidez and how far will his boxing career go?

I think Benavidez - Ramirez is a very interesting matchup. If Benavidez wins convincingly I hope he faces Opetaia (David said he'll return to light heavyweight after Zurdo, but with a good offer he might change his mind, obviously we can discuss this after May 2nd). Now that Jai is with Zuffa Boxing I think after Glanton he could face a top fighter, perhaps the winner of Ramirez - Benavidez. Benavidez's career has been very good so far, I hope it continues like this.

Mate, if he gets in there with Opetaia then he will be worthy of every bit of respect regardless of the result.

I just saw he ran into Opetaia in the crowd today at the Garcia Barrios fight.

 

Aside from the fact that he got dropped heavily by Ronald Gavril, Compubox numbers blur these lines when Benavidez faces less quality competition than some of the others in these rankings. He's so vicious offensively that he can get away with it. Devin Haney is above Benavidez too, but he's pretty easy to hit as well. I like Benavidez but if he fights Bivol, he's going to get schooled.
