I guess thats wgat Kessler did to Mundine...walked through his shots...made him run further.

 

How long since Mundine fought an opponent who was actually on the way up? .... Not recently!

Hard to see the upset occurring, though I'd like to. At least Geale is an improving talent, and hopefully a worthy opponent, not someone on the downslide.

Echoing some of the points already made, we really don't have much to gauge given how poor his opposition has been in the past. His bout against McKillop wasn't even a fight . . . very very poor opponent indeed. It would have been interesting to see how he would have gone against Toney. Mundane will be a huge step up for him IMO, but interestingly enough this will also be the first guy Mundane has fought with an actual pulse for a loooonnnnng time.

 

We will know where both stand on the world scene after this fight. Mandy should win this fight by decision but Geale is an untested, unknown prospect in his prime thats undefeated. You can't go undefeated in 21 fights & not be a good fighter.

i think its a good risk-reward for both fighters .

Geale - Not many expect him to win , however a win will give him a massive boost in popularity in Australia , and also give him some credibility to himself on a world stage and to the IBO Title ..a win could propel him into the Abrahams-Pavlick-etc..who might see him as an easy fight.

Mundine - can become a " 3 Time World Champion..cough,cough" , IBO Title gives him bargaining power , Geale is a decent name to have on your record and the given fact it is for the IBO Title , brings extra $$$ to the fight , as the general public dont really understand where the IBO Title sits in the pecking order

Cant argue with ya HB, except to make a point of the last sentence...

It's impossible to fathom where any of these title are regarded. Through history, WBA... then WBC... blah blah.. Pac/Hatton are fighting for the same belt ..IBO...

Governing bodies, P4P's. Ring Mag Belts... geez, it makes Karate look short listed. If the currents governing bodies were to invate Karate etc... there would be 'colour blind belts', 'pastel belts', 'faded by daylight savings belts'..

The fans know whats important.. seeing the big fights, and they do come along once or twice a year.
