If you're talking about best as a heavyweight, and only including ones who were top fighters at the lower weights, there's a good case for it, Ezzard Charles being the main competition I can think og. But it's a bit of a hollow achievement considering he had a higher weightclass to move up from than the earlier fighters, and plenty of pharmaceutical help.

Just talking as a heavyweight not P4P, I think Holyfield has to rate higher.

Just P4P, Fitz and a load of others obviously rank way higher.

Holy was a great counter puncher too and through counters consistently, it was hard to punch at him without something coming back.

Holy was a much better heavyweight than Jones and acheived far more at that weight despite Roy moving up from a lighter weight than Holy did.

    Haha, I was joking mate.

Holy has wins over Bowe, Tyson, Moorer, Foreman, Mercer, Douglas, Rahman, Holmes, Stewart, Cooper and Ruiz at HW while Roy has that one win over Ruiz and nothing else, there's no comparison whatsoever.

It seems the thread title changed to a more logical question

The best counter puncher, slip/parry heavyweight in recent memory, and even way back. A very complete and hard fighter to beat even for elites all time, which he was too. Roided out of his mind though !!!!!

holyfield was a roided cruiserweight that fought roided heavyweights. he made up that difference through extremely hard work at his craft.

Luna Park was an amusement-park, and apparently this was the only (open-air) boxing match of any note to have been held here. Attendance was some 4,000
