hes very good out of the southpaw stance, hes got a class straight left right hook combo check it out, perhaps best seen dropping nestor rocha (?) with it
Hasegawa is a elite fighter. He was dominating Montiel before he got cought. Okey, not dominating but he looked faster and better before that one punch which basically ended the fight. I think Hasegawa was easily in Top-5 pap list before Montiel fight. He is small guy but he has some amazing power in his hands. And he is ultrafast. Okay now he moved two weightclasses up but I think he would be a hard challenge for Gamboa. Gamboa might be too strong for Hasegawa who has moved up but.. I think it would still be exciting to watch and I wouldnt never ever write off Hasegawa in this match up.
A very technically sound fighter. Footwork = A Power = B Defense = A- Speed = B A very good fighter however he has a questionable chin. He's a career bantamweight that got put on ***** street by a career superflyweight and now hes at featherweight. I dont expect him to accomplish from here on out but he does still make for great match-ups.
Among the best in the sport. He's good. Really good. Better than the bandwagon jumpers realize at this point.
No. Martinez won the 1st round then finished PDub in the 2nd. Hasegawa was winning every round including the one he got caught. As for the chin issue, he got hit right on the button of an aleady broken jaw by Montiel's money punch that was followed by a barrage of power shots, but Hozumi was still stopped on his feet. Also, the monster uppercut from a figher likely outweighing him by 7-8 pounds today buzzed him, but didn't knock him down. I don't think Hasegawa has ever been down. He has a good chin. Not great, but not suspect either.
hasagawa was easily in control until he got caught, and even then, it was unfortunate that his hands got tangled in the ropes leaving him defenceless
Don't get fooled by the Japanese public screaming Montiel was just setting the left hook in the early rounds.
Hasegawa was winning, but Montiel was clearly looking for that exact punch the whole fight and it was only a matter of time. He was trying to decapitate Hozumi from the opening bell.
I'm very optimistic about his chin at FW. Burgos is no powder-puff and connected with some hard right hand leads and uppercuts. Also, Montiel's power might be a bit underrated. That he seemingly packs a bigger punch (at bantamweight) than a very strong featherweight says a lot. That's power carried up from long campaigns at 112 and 115, too. We can only hang so much on Hasegawa's resistance improving without the weight drain.
Overrated at this point in time.Hasn't met an earth shaking puncher equivalent of a Montiel and Juan MA LOPEZ.I said before his resume prior to Montiel were all unknowns. And a puncher will check him (his chin) and look at the outcome. But people talk it up like he beat great ones i am sure they were good but great?NAH...He only fights in Japan against so so opponents.
