He was fighting in the wrong weight division trading bombs with a guy who was bigger, stronger and had a stylistic advantage over him. Doesn't mean he's overrated.

 

Prime Soto was very good (not great). Now he is merely good, at least as a LWW - and you have to be better than merely good to hang with LMM.

If he can drop back down without draining, maybe he could regain some effectiveness.

The fact that many gave a past-prime slowed-down blown-up Soto a very good chance against Matthysse shows just how underrated the Argentinian warrior still is.

The bookies knew better, however. Matthysse was the betting favorite (although not all that widely) despite being far more obscure .
