Believe me, I would pay big bucks to find the Ken Norton book again. Now that I think about it, I actually borrowed the Jimmy Young book from the library in Deltona, Florida in 1982. It was written right after his victory over George Foreman, and for all intents the biographer seemed convinced Jimmy was the next Champ. Young was a very fine fighter, it's a shame he never became champion while guys like Bruce Seldon and Michael Bentt did. Of course, there were only a few belts back in Jimmy's day. Many feel he won the Norton fight, though I just didn't see enough offense from Young to give him that one. Depends on whom is watching it I guess. I can't assertively argue against a Young victory in that match, Jimmy still did very well.
Nobody could stop Ali's jab. It was the quickest jab for a man that size. He peppered opponents with it. His reflexes allowed him to avoid the return jab, often by pulling back which is a no no in boxing. Other than Norton only Bob Foster really was able to get his jab out of the dressing room but he didn't have Norton's defense.
I have his autobiography. Is that the book you are thinking of? I wasn't aware he had an earlier book?
I'm pretty sure the book was co-authored by him. It was a white book with Ken in fighting stance on the cover. I just tried to find it on Google and totally failed...I wonder if they still have that book in Deltona. Florida. I'd like to buy it from them lol.
I'll send u a few books. I always feel bad i buy a book and read it then it's wasted. I need to donate most of them
