How good is Margarito gentlemen.....????

One thing that really pissed me off (and keep in mind, I don't get pissed off easily) was when I heard a poster say he would have beaten Duran at 147.

 

Based on accounts, they would fight almost nothing at all alike aside from the fact that they're both aggressive.

 

He is a true warrior.
He is to me just the common guy who works really hard to make a living in boxing.
God did not bless him with speed or strength. Well his strength is pretty good but thats also because he is much bigger than a normal WW. He was not blessed with any great physical attributes but he works hard and thats very impressive.
He may not be an ATG but he would give any ATG one of the toughest fights of their life.

 

I actually think Margo can take Quintanas belt. I see Margarito losing some early rounds then coming on strong in the late rounds in which Quintana usually gases out a little. Im thinking late round stoppage for Margo.

 

Very tough fight to pick. I can make cases for both guys here.

 

He is the modern Chavez style fighter and I believe that a win over Cotto (Mex V Puerto RIco) will win him over the entire mexican community and more. I also believe he could have all 3 belts....He can be that good cant wait to find out.

 

The thing here is I dont think Quintana is gonna even put a dent on Margo. He will just walk through everything Quintana has and land his own. Like i said Quintana has good skills but his stamina is questionable. MArgo is just too relentless for Quintana i think. Not to mention Quintana was beaten by Cottos body attack and Margo has a good one too.

I really like both fighters. I actually like Quintana a little more. He won me over in the Joel Julio fight. I really wish him the best but i would recommend he stay away from Margarito and Cotto in this division.

 

Well, you could also say Margarito lost against Williams boxing skills. And Quintana was better than Williams in their fight. So, It hard to say

 

Quintana doesn't need to knock him out. He just need to make more points

I say it depends which Margarito shows up. Because I have seen very different Margarito's before

 

At least nobody has said he'd beat Hearns or Leonard...

Yet.

But I bet if we made a poll, there'd be some people picking Margarito.

"Guys, remember that Hearns didn't have the best of chins as proved in his fights with Leonard, Hagler ect. We know he isn't going to knock out Margarito but Margarito can definitely knock him out. I'll go with Margarito by KO, in similar fashion the way he knocked out Cintron, a big right hand puncher like Hearns."

 

You want to see something really bad? Check out Amsterdam's thread. A poster on there just told me Mayweather potshots Hagler to a decision. Just when you've thought you've seen it all...

 

LOL, I can't believe that some people actually would think stuff like that. I could see Margarito puting up a good fight, but actually beating all time greats? Wow, that's really just crazy.
