    1. No, it wasn't a robbery, just a very very close win for Santos on cuts.
I'm not saying which weight they should fight if that bout was arranged, but my question is this: Floyd fighting Baldo over Margo was a pretty sane choice according to you, and I agree.
Now, Margo willing to fight DLH at 154 over Santos doesn't seem logical to you? Sure, DLH has no belts as Baldo did, but the money would be much much more for Margo if he fought DLH than Santos, plus Margo is already a champion in a very competitive weight class.
I'm very interested in your thoughts on this one :good

    2. Agreed, of course it wasn't "razor thin". However, did Margo himself turn down that offer for a rematch or was it his promoter/manager? It's a legit question, I honestly don't know the story very well.

    Margie is a "C" fighter.

    Has an "A" chin.

Don't make more out of him than what he is.....

If that is true then your hero Cotto is a "D" class fighter that lost to "C" class Margarito. Enjoy.

Never said in any of my posts that it wasn't logical for Margarito to fight DLH, it's a nice fight and one I would pay to watch. I was making a point there that Margarito is willing to move up for a big money fight but isn't interested in avenging a loss, meaning he WILL and CAN move up if he wants to depending on the option, as far as I remember the majority of his fans praise him for being a man who wants legacy over money and would fight for "Free" if pride was the option, that was the slogan of the hype train as it started to fire back at Mayweather who was looking to make money. Nothing but a come-back there and more of a reminder of when I told some of these Margarito fans that when he gets a big shot he will be looking to do the same and in comparison to what Mayweather already accomplished when he was looking for money Margarito doesn't even come close.

The fighter has the ability to make a fight if he wants to, his team are behind him but can call the shots. Mayweather did it, DLH did it, Leonard did it, Ali did it and many others. Margarito did it when he fought Williams the first time, Arum never wanted that fight but Margarito took it to keep his belt.

Where is your response to my list of articles about how Margarito turned down a career high payday to avenge a loss?

    Fair enough :good

Sure, but do we know for sure Margo was the one turning down the rematch offer and not his promoter? Especially after Margo's "mistake" (according to Arum) to fight Williams the first time although his team were strongly against it?

He is B minus fighter B at best. Just because he beat Cotto he is not all of a sudden some world beater. Lets see he beat Cintron twice big freaking deal. He beat the Johnson guy oh he is really great now. Sorry he is not great off one win. Let Margo beat a few more quality guys before some of you put the man in the hall of fame i mean damn he beat Cotto that does not make a legacy. People are getting carried away with Margo ****.

No it wasn't and Margarito publicly responding and claiming "Williams needs to wait" proves that he doesn't want it as much as his promoter/manager don't.

    "Williams needs to wait"???
 That sounds like a little bit of taunting to me...
Anyway this fight has to happen, and the one to blame if it doesn't will have a big smear in his career imo.

    [/edit]

And I believe Margarito would be more respected by fans if he rematched Williams, even if he lost again.

I always put it this way:

Margarito isn't very good boxing skill wise. He's easier than a barn door to hit, quite slow, and fights in predictable patterns.

However, he is one of the hardest fighters in the world to actually get a W against.

Doesnt matter how good he is. Save Williams, the guy beats everybody. When you record wins over almost everybody you fight, you are worldclass.

A-, he's vulnerable to a truly world class slick boxer/mover type. Even if he never has to face a challenge like this the flaw is apparent. Other than that he's remarkable based on the tools he has to work with. Great fighter.
