No, actually if you look through my posts you will see I very rarely discuss Manny, and I don't rate him any more highly than most non-Pacfans. I recently wrote my top 50 p4p fighters ever, and Manny didn't even come into consideration. I wrote my top 25 fighters of the past 25 years a while before that, and I think Manny was around 13th - not exactly wildly irrational nuthuggery, is it? I called myself Pacfan because I think Manny is the most exciting fighter to watch who is still active, but I was never a cheerleader for him like say Pugilist or ChinaHandJoe are for Joe Calzaghe. I changed my username as I had become so so bored with the less intelligent and more infantile members of this forum replying to anything I said on any subject with some tired, childish, irrelevant insult regarding Pacquiao. I want to distance myself from him because morons like Nallege just see the username and troll around after you moaning about why Manny shouldn't be p4p#1 when I am discussing something completely different. It became insanely dull and boring. Plus I love JMM as well, time to give him some love!! :D

He has a good chin, but people are overrating it here. He has been rocked, and he's been KDed about 3 times in his career, so it's not like he's impenetrable. Clottey isn't actually a big puncher, just muscular. Cintron's power is overrated (he's knocked out lots of bums, whoop-dee-doo, so has Victor Oganov), and he never hit Margarito square with a solid blow anyway. Cotto's a big accumulation puncher but doesn't have a ton of one-punch power. Santos appears to have stunned him a couple of times.

Does he have grade-A durability? Sure, but does he have one of the best chins of all-time? Not really. There are a number of guys currently fighting who seem to have better chins (Toney, Hopkins, Baldomir, Andrade, McCall, Tua, Mosley, etc.).

If his chin ever got in touch with Hearn's right hand, that chin would crumble!

Hell no his chin isn't the best ever. He benefits from two things. The first one is a weak era for punchers at his weight. Guiys like Hearns and Tito would have taken his head off. Two Margo is really a JMW or MW he uses this to his advantage and can take shots from much smaller men in a weak era of punchers at WW. He has a great chin but no where near the best ever. Like Hopkins,McCall, Lamotta or Hagler guys who took punches from ATGs.

Margarito has never been stopped in his entire career. All of the knockdowns came early in his career.
Whilst some people are overrating Margarito's chin, others underrate it. In saying Santos rocked him a few times is rubbish, and Cintron and Cotto can both bang. They both landed big shots, including Cintron, and Margarito was never wobbled or hurt once. Cotto is an accumlation puncher, but he hit Margarito with an accumulation and then some. Margarito smiled and jogged forward. Insane.

I agree that Margarito isn't tested enough to be able to have the best chin of all time, but he has a lot of credibility.

Do I think Mosley takes all those shots, and doesn't get wobbled or rocked? No.

I agree he doesn't have the greatest chin ever, however, you cannot discredit the fighters he has fought and the punches he has taken. Cintron has massive power for 147 and he did take some clean shots and still walked through them. And no, Cintron is not Oganov, who got knocked out in his first fight in the U.S. In regards to Cotto, tell me which other welterweight would have taken as many punches as Margarito took that night? Cotto may not have one punch ko, but he did connect with Margarito a whole lot.

Nope the only true puncher he faced was Cotto, who punching power I consider extremely over rated. I can think of a few fighters from the past from 147 to 154 that would not have an issue with cottos power,
    SRL,Duran , Mike McCallum , Tommy Hearns.

He has a chin that I believe can be called granite or iron. It's not the best chin ever, but he is top 4 in the world just now along with Toney, Hopkins and Vitali Klitschko (Oliver McCall hasn't fought in over a year and I can't see Wayne McCullough fighting again).

Yes he has been knocked down by a non-lethal puncher in Daniel Santos, but Toney was floored by Reggie Johnson and Hopkins was dropped by Segundo Mercado - it is unrealistic to expect guys to progress through long, top-level careers without ever losing their balance or getting carelessly clipped.

I don't believe anyone at 140, 147 or 154 could stop Margarito right now, I think he has a fantastic chin.

Then again, if Tommy Hearns caught anyone flush at 147 or 154, they're gone.

How high would Steve Forbes be on the chin list, currently?

JMM doesn't seem to engender the same amount of vitriol as Pac tho, I think this is a good choice.

I agree with your post, however, Margarito was never knocked down by Santos. he was shook temporarily but recovered quickly.
