I just seen his record and he hasn't fought anybody great except Cotto but he also was never beatin decisively until he fought Cotto. I see he won his last fight but the guy only had 6 fights. So anybody in here that has seen some of his fights, how good would you rate him?
Not world level.Domestic level maybe Euro level at best.He has a good basic skill set but lacks power and probably doesn't have the greatest chin People completely wrote him off before the Cotto fight saying Cotto would blast him out in 1 round(I never picked him to win but knew he would atleast hold his own for a short while). Those people were of course ignorant Americans who'd never seen him box-typical.
He's a fundamentally sound fighter. Good jab, superb workrate and conditioning, decent handspeed, enough power to keep opponents honest. He's a a very good domestic level fighter but was hopelessly out of his depth against Cotto.
will get to european level but will always lose at world level unless there is a weak champion but at welterweight there is no way a easy title shot
Here are a couple of measuring sticks for you guys who know something about Jennings. How would he do against: Delvin Rodriguez; Alfonso Gomez?
I don't know anything about Rodriguez, but I say Jennings beats Gomez in a close fight based on sheer work rate and aggression if nothing else. Both guys are hardly murderous punchers with decent enough chins, so it'd go the distance most likely.
Rodriquez is the kid who put Oscar Diaz in a coma. Last I heard it looks like diaz will make a good recovery.
