In short, not very Haye has progressed massively since then, whilst Solis looks like he's been training at Wendys. He looked mediocre last night against extremely poor opposition Haye would kill him. Any top heavyweight would
I just saw the Solis vs Long fight and I will say that was a very poor performance on the part of Solis. His weight has come down, which is good, but his technique is still very amateurish. The truth is he has long arms so I never expect him to have very sharp compact punches, that said he still throws looping punches that are great for scoring points but don't do real damage. He needs to get down to 225 or so because he isn't getting it done.
Any top heavyweight would? Haye isnt a top heavy weight, mate! So far Bonin is his only heavy weight scalp. And lets be honest:Bonin is a very limited Polish journeyman who wouldnt last more than 3 rounds with Solis either. Solis' last performance was very disappointing. No doubt about that! However,he has already beaten Bates,Mazikin,Sidon,Colliander, and McGee. Good list of scalps for a fighter with just 6 pro fights, dont you think so? Mazikin won every round against Sedrick Fields(who defeated Shannon Briggs) when they met each other a few months ago.He scored a victory against the millitary heavy weight champ Chechenev, and lost by split decision to a genuine top 30 heavy weight ,Taras Bidenko. Colliander has a very awkward style-not easy to beat him. Sidon is a very experienced journeyman who went the full route with Valuev in their legendary fight in the Czech Republic's capital Prague a few years ago. Yes,Solis had a day off against Long, and yes,he looked as if he had been a regular at McDonalds for quite a few weeks before. Nevertheless he was an outstanding amateur, and his list of defeated opponents is quite impressive for such a short pro career, too. He has all the tools and all the talent of this world to become of champ. Sam Peter or Calvin Brook who couldnt hold a candle to Solis are big names now. I for my part am positive that Solis will be a mighty force in his weight division, too. He just has to keep his nose to the grindstone and sweat in the gym instead of spending his money on junk food! Since he is based in Germany I very much hope that he soon trains under one of those grumpy old eastern German coaches. German coaches ' strenghts are their rigid fitness programs. Wlad still trusts in Vitaly's old coach Sdunek and follows his written fitness instructions. Why the hell is Solis' managment not able to sign up one of those good German coaches for Solis?
I said it in reference to the fight that was mentioned in the amateurs, rather than Haye being a top heavyweight Haye would definitely take revenge if they were to fight tomorrow baseed on what I saw the other night. I'll take your word on his performances prior to that
To be fair if you have seen the solis haye am's fight if that was the pro's haye would have won a first round ko he had solis out on his feet before the ref jumped in, haye is an excellent finisher and he would have finished him off. Solis is a good prospect but doesn't have great power and is out of shape, haye suits the pro game more.
I didn't see anything like "out on his feet" don't start creating myths here. Solis took a good shot and stumbled back but he wasn't seriously hurt. Even if Haye would have had the chance to follow through and had actually scored a knockdown, it wouldn't be over, Solis has good recuperation power, I doubt he would be out because of one knockdown.
He was ****ed for about 2 or 3 seconds and in the pro game haye would have laid him out in that time[YT]B19Re17fmWk[/YT] ala mormeck
Haye's the cruiserweight undisputed champ, solis is a fat cuban who can't knock out audley harrison rejects, get over it.
We are gutted Haye lost in the amateurs. We'll never live it down, what with Haye only being undisputed cruiserweight champ I'm sure we'll have a day of mourning at some point
I could give a **** less about Solis. But your comparing a 20 fight pro in Haye to a prospect who hasn't even has 10 fights yet. Your a loser.:good
Your a ****** how old is solis incase you hadn't noticed, coul;d it be older than haye so shut the **** up idiot. Haye turned pro and got the cruiswerweight belt while solis was eating his way to 250lbs.
Haye is not the undisputed cruiser champ. What about Enzo Maccarinelli & Steve Cunningham? They have belts too! For Haye to be undisputed he has to defeat everyone!
