he is an Elite Boxer, directly from the School of Alexis Arguello(and Chocorroncito Buitrago heading that way)... would like a rematch with estrada, a fight with IOKA,
He is very good, It's just that, Estrada aside, he hasn't been able to get any top fighters in the ring with him to show it. Hopefully he gets that chance soon, I don't think continuously fighting low level opponents is doing him any good. I'd be fine with anyone in the top 5, a rematch with Estrada would be amazing.
Hes one of the best fighters in the world and one of the best little fighters of the last decade but he needs to get some big names in his resume to establish his legacy, hes moving up in weight in search of bigger fights and he has his sights on tough argentinian Champion JC Raveco and Japanese Star and Champion Kazuto Ioka who's also looking to move up in weight, fights and wins against those guys would go a long way to get Chocolatito the recognition that his talents deserve. Heres hoping that those fights get made.
Gonzalez is fantastic & his power seems to be following him up in weight. Would love to see him in against the likes of the Estrada/ Segura winner, Ioka, the Yaegashi/ Sosa winner, Reveco or even Viloria
Honestly, I have no doubt he (among hardcore fans) could end up going down as the very best fighter of the next 10 years. He's that good.
Great boxer, great puncher... His resume is good from longevity and activity, but in all honesty we haven't seen him truly tested in several years now. He hasn't really collected a great, noteworthy scalp since the Niida win which put him on the map. I am a big fan though. If he's not in the top 10 P4P, he's on the short list of those almost there. I would really like for Gonzalez vs. Ioka next. Rematch with Estrada would be the next best option, and then all of the top guys at 108-112 from Segura to Nietes all would make for really attractive fights.
With the benefit of hindsight, the Estrada win is actually a very nice win for Gonzalez. Other than that, he hasn't fought anyone of his standing in recent times, but I have no doubt were he to meet Yaegashi/Sosa, Segura, Viloria - he would win. The Estrada rematch is a genuine possibility seemingly down the road with both stating they would be keen for it. I'd like to know if anyone has details on his management, because it is frustrating to watch him not fight the best out there, when he is quite clearly capable of handling himself.
No. This guy. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=319725&cat=boxer Who has a reasonable claim to being about the best sub 116 fighter there is.
