If your defence is so great why are you so reluctant to take any risks whatsoever? The greatest defensive fighters display great defence whilst putting themselves in the danger zone and taking risks and will actually take the risk of putting their foot on the gas and trying to get you out of there. The degree of difficultly and skill in that kind of manly defence is far higher and far more impressive. They can make you miss whilst in the the danger zone not whilst hiding behind a fence and throwing stones whilst safe from harm

 

Who will Shakur have to beat in order to claim that P4P#1 spot?

He's already beaten ATG killers like Herring, Valdez, Robson, Padley and a Teo who truth be told had lost 3 of his last 7 fights in all bar the corrupt judge's eyes and we all know that when you have that golden passport you will receive a ton more credit for beating weak opposition and having a trash resume, never travelling, weight bullying leprechauns, fighting on a deck heavily stacked in your favour whilst fouling, holding and cheating to your heart's content and having it be deemed the height of skill and ever so strangely when you dominate a division it mysteriously transforms from weak to strong.

Maybe a Ricky Burns and Postol level opponent to secure that #1 spot, eh?

 

He's very skilled but extremely risk averse and safety first and about as exiting to watch as eggs boil.

Even his fight vs Zepeda wasn't exciting to watch. It just was just mildly entertaining because it wasn't his usual snoozefest. It's like trying to paint Sven Ottke as some kind of power puncher because he scored a HL reel KO of Anthony Mundine as opposed to his usual winning via UD or SD.

Even the purists don't find that style of boxing genuinely entertaining, let alone the casuals. They just pretend to because they think it makes them look like sophisticated fans

Guess what you can outbox and outclass your opponent whilst taking risks, putting yourself in the danger zone, and not being mortally afraid of getting clipped by the wind of a punch, and at least attempting to provide the fans with some kind entertainment value for parting with their hard earned cash but it takes a far higher degree of difficulty doing it that way. It's akin to not getting wet whilst walking in a light shower with an umbrella and not getting wet whilst walking through a rainstorm without one.

If Usyk can do that vs murderous punching giants way bigger than him on a deck stacked against at him then why can't these risk averse slicksters do the same vs leprechauns and fighters their own size on a deck stacked in their favour? There is no valid excuse why they can't.

He knocked the massive punching way bigger Dubois the beep out x 2, came within a whiskers of knocking the way bigger big punching Belly out of there, and he hurt the way bigger murderous punching AJ twice and almost got him out of there in the dying seconds of their first fight

Round 9 of Usyk vs Belly I was wildly exciting and entertaining and voted the round of the year for a reason. It was one of the most iconic moments in the sport in a very long time
