shame has great speed and power, but his footwork is his downfall.
talk about what might have been - imagine if you could fuse the strengths of judah and mosley....

You will be saying the same thing about Floyd when he loses. You will point to some weakness (because it will become apparent in his loss) and you will say the same thing.

But the problem is NO FIGHTER HAS EVERYTHING!

All I know is Shane has always looked good and very strong at 147. Even against Cotto, had him running for his life at the end.

Obviously, I'm not arguing for an ATG placement purely off the back of that one performance. It's just interesting to see the skills and athleticism he had back then.

Regardless of anything else, he will go down as one of the greatest LWs ever and one of the greatest p4p fighters ever. He doesn't back down to anyone and he ALWAYS goes for the knockout.:bbb

Not really, he was never THE man at Lightweight and didn't really beat anyone of note. Wouldn't make my top 10, despite his H2H ability.

Then u are pretty much a fool. The only lightweight at the time that could have given Shane any competition would have been belt holder Stevie Johnston.....that's it.

Not Orzubek, Not Cardona....I am trying to remember who else? But in any case only Johnston. That fight was on tap to be made but Shane made the move to welter.

Shane's domination of former champs and decent contenders says everything you need to know about him at lightweight.

In fact boxing historians have Shane as an all-time great at lightweight but DON'T have DLH as an all time great at ANY WEIGHT CLASS! That speaks volumes.

Not all fighters will have wins against an ELITE opponent. Sometimes that is due to the fact none are around, and at other times it is due to them not being able to get fights.

Tell me what are Winky's significant wins at jr middle? He is considered one of the best jr middles ever. If you look Winky has actually come out on the short end of most of his biggest fights (though some controversial), but he is still regarded as one of the best jr middles ever.

    Why?

Because we have eyes, and we realize a few of his losses came outside of his best weight class, and at least 2 are highly disputed (vargas and taylor). But Winky did lose to Harry Simon and early in his career to a solid title holder (forget his name off top of my head).

Your logic and analytical skills are dubious at best.

This is a pretty bad thread this mate , to question one of boxing's finest resume's in the modern game is ****in daft , Mosley has fought at world class level from 135 - 154 and has ducked nobody , never been battered and has some pretty big wins too , all the fights he lost barring Winky and Forrest 1 and maybe 2 depending on how you viewed that fight were competetive and was maybe on the wrong end of a decision against Cotto .........................

Throughout the majority of his career at world level has been a main stay in the P4P rankings too !!!!!!!!! :patsch

    Mediocre.

He got tooled by Forrest and Winky twice each, Vargas gave him the fits first time, Mayorga gave him a serious run for his money, and Margarito was out of it mentally when he didn't climb into the ring without his brickies on.

Aside from their best wins, how good is any fighter?

    :think
