Wasn't he the prize of the 3 who defected? The one they considered the best?

Not certainly the best but the one who would make the most cash due to him fighting at heavyweight...he's steadily coming down in weight. I guess he will be around 240lbs for his US-debut...

Hmm....of the 3 I thought that they said one of them was the best fighter in Cuba and the prize of their Amatuer Program.

well heavyweights always get more attention so thats why he was considered the prize.

I saw him fight Julius Long and was unimpressed, mainly because he was out of shape

No, this one was Rigondeaux - the one who tried to escape with Esrendi Lara. Both got caught in Brazil and were sen back to Cuba and now suffer poverty for the rest of their lives without boxing...

Well, Rigondeaux was the best amateur fighter and Solis the best of the three defected fighters now in Hamburg, then Barthelemi, then Gamboa.

But Gamboa has looked the best by far so far so the attention has shifted.

Solis certainly needs a world class coach like Roach and not one of these muppets.
