He's very good and he has a horrible suffocating style where he often breaks your will before he breaks your body. He beats all the warrior and resistance out of you mentally and physically. Sure his defence is porous but he's difficult to hurt even if you're a big puncher. In short, he's a nightmare to fight. Dadashev 13-0-0 Hawkins 18-0-0 Jukembayev 18-0-0 Ponce 30-0-0 Ergashev 23-0-0 All big punchers sans possibly Hawkins, almost all highly regarded, all stopped or forced to pull a no mas Paro 15-0-0 and he's a big puncher too
Yes, almost all those victims of his I mentioned were highly regarded and some seen as potential future world champions.
All-action fighter who reminds me of a Honey badger. Fierce, relentless, isn’t afraid to take punches, constantly moving forward, and heavy handed while throwing so many bombs. His major issue is a pretty average defense who relies more on toughness rather than avoiding shots and seems to only know how to fight one way. As one dimensional as he is though he is a dangerous fighter who would give anyone hell.
The loss to Ananyan showed his limitations. Yes he's got this high volume suffocating style but you fight back and don't allow him to dictate the fight, it exposes his lack of defensive abilities. He'll probably be too much for Paro as he'll simply walk guys down and out last them in a fight of attrition but that's not a style that lends to long careers. Even if he beats Paro he won't keep the titles for long once he steps up or simply declines due to his style. I get why people are hyping him, he has an exciting style, but exciting doesn't mean elite. We need to see him in with the top guys like Lopez or Haney to see who good he really is. I'd like to see him against Catterall as Catterall's style is effective against pressure guys with his counter punching and use of clinching and framing to keep guys off him on the inside.
The movie that this gif is from was fantastic. And the movie/life that it was spoofing was one of the greatest disasters I've ever watched in my life Original question: I think Matias is what you see. His whole style is to walk forward and beat you up to the body and head. If you're really, truly an elite boxer puncher (that's sturdy), you should be able to beat him. But if at any time you slow down and can't get out of his way...................... I don't think he's a puzzle to figure out, it's not hard to come up with a gameplan to beat him. It's can you stick to the gameplan. I don't think he's the best at JWW, I do think he can beat some guys ranked higher than him though.......
Is it? The 140 division is stacked with top fighters which Paro is in the mix with, you want him to jump straight in with Teo or Haney? Someone like a Paro, Hitchins or Prograis are the levels he should be defending against for now.
Yes he's a title holder, a world champion, he should be fighting those at his level, not guys who are outside the top ten.
