I've seen him against Spinks, Ouma, Wright and Bhop and no one's really checked Taylor's chin out of the above. Has anyone previously? Spinks, Ouma and Wright are not big punchers, and though Bhop has some power he's no knockout artist. Can the kid take a shot? Can he take a big shot? Has he been on the canvas much in the amateurs?
He looked buzzed against winky a couple of times and as you said winky is not a big puncher. Pavlik has serious power...
I think he has a good chin. You gotta have a fairly decent one to go the distance with Wright and Hopkins twice. Pavlik's claim to fame is beating Miranda who was raw and not all that special to begin with so I think it'll hold up just fine in this fight. Both men are capable of hurting eachother but JT's experience and technique will ultimately carry him to victory
Well he has never been down in his pro career. So that has to count for something. I think the 29th of September will tell us what type of chin he has. I got the feeling that both guys wont be backing up and somebodies chin will be checked. The more I think about the more I feel that this fight wont go the distance. Taylor TKO
he was chin checked by Hopkins at the end of their first fight, his reaction was pretty good. i think his chin might not be the best but he is a big, strong guy and so that definately helps his punch resistance.
Well we know that Pavlik has a good chin...even if Miranda is raw he can crack ask Allan Green and arthur abrham
I have to agree with this. Although at one point he was holding on for dear life, he made it, against a master at that. Pavlik KO 7.
Pavlik's chin was proven against Miranda; Jermain may have to prove his on Saturday night. Is Jermain Taylor the real deal or a fraud? We also find that out on Saturday night.
yeah, but there was talk that miranda was weightdrained!! as lewis pointed out during the fight, saying that mirandas punches lacked sip. but lets not forget: Pavlik was down vs an unkown and vs zuniga. nothing sure there either!
They both have average chins. I don't see one having an advantage over the other here, only that Pavlik has probably faced harder punchers (at least Zuniga is a harder puncher, but then again Zuniga knocked him down).
Good point, but Pavlik was the bigger man so has he been weight drained in some of his fights....all questions will be answered Sat. as for predictions i am going with JT by SD, there will also be a rematch if it is a good fight.
Just spoke to someone who was at the presser in NYC on Wednesday & they said Taylor didn't appear as confident as KP during an awesome stare down. Here we go!
