How good is Terence Crawford at 147 really ?

Agreed. Up until Brook got caught with a jab he didn't see (and then went totally in his shell due to fear of the Orbital I assume!!), he was jabbing Crawford pretty well and making him look fairly average. Of course, Crawford still closed the show, but Kell had no business in that ring IMO

 

Not so hard to be a KO artist @147 if he's not going in against 147 top talents. Maybe Mean Machine is a bit underrated, but I'm not sold on him and Horn. KO Porter, Swift Garcia or Thurman. (Or Spence of course), then we are talking.

 

Crawford is probably the most talented fighter ever who will retire without a single good win.

Not gonna say they are meaningless or a joke but it’s just hard to gage how good he actually is. That’s not all his fault either as no other promotional company was gonna offer him the $3.5 mil guarantee that Top Rank gave him. So he’s stuck in no mans land unfortunately because of who he’s signed to. But this is no different than Top Rank signing all the LWs in order to unify the division and nobody outside of Top Rank even got a title shot during that period. Boxing politics suck big time.

Example: Danny Garcia after he gets the WBC in the fight with Robert Guerrero doesn’t fight Thurman. Instead he fights Devon Alexander, Luis Collazo, Lipinets etc.. We would not have a gage on how good he actually is at 147 because he wouldn’t have faced the top 5 guys. That’s where Crawford is.

Spence needs Crawford to be the MAN. Crawford needs Spence, Porter, and possibly a talented young star in the making.
