It's not granite like Ali or Marciano or others who take big shots. You sit down. I'm a Usyk fan analysing him critically. You soyboys think criticism is hate , grow up. It's called a discussion. He's not known for his chin like e.g. vitali who took elite bangs from Lewis.
GGG defence is not weaker than Usyks, it’s the style he chose that neglects partially defence in favour of attack. He could have been defensive but would have been interesting to a very thin number of fans same as Usyk, but without any political backing behind him… and even national fan base being 5-6 times less. Usyk without Fury and AJ financially is zero. Not attractive, absolutely dull boxing, no ko power, cheating with shorts against bodyshots, scorecard gifts and big politics behind him as symbol of ukes…
GGG remains the most underrated boxer of recent times for me, his defense was a very underrated parrt of his game, he didn't rely on flash head movement but on perfect parrying and distance control, his defensive stats were brilliant. But I think it was his downfall, a lot of the punches that looked like they hit GGG were parried or blocked but still scored by the judges.
In over 370 fights amateur, semi-pro, and pro he has never been KO'd or dropped from a headshop despite having fought an absolute murderer's row of legit punchers and savage punching KO artists, fighting his opponents in their primes, in their backyards or on the road, fighting giants twice his size. Incredible Just a small selection AJ Dubois Gassiev Briedis Chisora Glowacki Bellew Huck Hunter Majidov Big Joe Joyce Nistor Beterbiev And obviously tons more in the amateurs too
I've yet to see Usyk get hit by some of the shots Canelo landed on GGG. Particularly one in the 1st or 2nd one that was doing the rounds on social media earlier this year. Just absolutely-everything-into-it shot. Barely even blinked. Terminator chinned.
