Wlad had an excellent grasp of the basics, going back to his training as a youngster, but he clearly thrives under that Soviet/Steward school that emphasizes the basics.
Absolut right. Wladimir Zolotarew was/is a very good boxing teacher. Wlad has a very good footwork until 1999. Watch his earlier fights. His fight against Puritty was very good. Very good foowork and very variable punches before he run out of gas. Wlad did not much wrong. If he had a coach in his corner who paces him after round 8 he should have won this fight but his corner told him "box more, box more"! False coaching. Sdunek wants Wlad to change his style in his DDR-style wich ruins Wlad. Steward turned Wlad in the "young Wlad" with some tactics to recover, to take a punch better, to calm himself and so on. And Steward is a master of ringgeneralship.
Charr gives him props, but Charr might become overwhelmed by this event.......? Charr appears to be more so a playboy who seeks money, rather than kick some ass on the elite level...... MR.BILL
