That was an unfocussed Vic purely going for the big punch. I thiought he had learned not to do that after Donaire. At least he was humble about it and should be able to come back again.
Agbeko moved well and beat Vic to the punch more than I thought he would, but still feel Vic gave it away by being silly. Some have mentioned the lack of power for Vic at the higher weight, but he wasn't throwing with any pop, just flailing his arms around and getting frustrated.
It did not think it was as calose as the scores either.

Well if not for that BS Knock Down, then maybe Agbeko would have been up by three points.

The cards might have been closer than they should have been but at least they had the right man winning.

And good on Vic for providing another quality fight that entertained me for the most part. I have never ever seen a boring Darchinyan fight as of yet.

It was very sad to see Vic go back to his old ways. The better fighter won Vic will be better off staying at superflyweight. I think he is to small for agbekos division.

    Go the RAGING BULL

i think he should give bantam another crack, if he stays fucused he is good at breaking down his opponents, i think he could have outboxed agbeko easily had he not let "thew big punch" get in the way

He didn't really box did he? Vic is fantastic to watch when he waits for the right moment to land the big punch. Unfortunately against Agbeko, he lacked patience and was looking for the money shot rather than building momentum. I still think there's a place in this division for him. maybe the moment got ahead of him and he was thinking about making history. Either way, he has heaps more than what we saw in this fight. I;m sure his next one will be the Vic we all know.

Darchinyan weighs up options - considers Donaire rematch

A heavily stitched Vic Darchinyan is weighing whether to return to super flyweight for a potential unification fight or chase another bantamweight boxing world title following his loss last weekend.
Darchinyan is currently recovering in Armenia, the country of his birth, following his points loss to IBF bantamweight world champion Joseph Agbeko in Florida.
Sydney-based Darchinyan required 44 stitches to three facial cuts following the bruising battle.
He has only about one more week to decide whether to defend his IBF super flyweight crown against mandatory contender Simphiwe Nongqayi or vacate the title.
If Darchinyan opts to return to super flyweight, his manager Elias Nassar said his fighter could look at meeting Puerto Rico's Jose Lopez, who holds the WBO title, the only major organisation whose belt the Australian doesn't currently own in that division.
``I have no doubt Vic will go through him (Lopez) fairly quickly,'' Nassar said of 37-year-old Lopez, who has a 39-7-2 record.
``It's just a case of making the fight happen.''

He described Darchinyan's defeat in Florida as as ``bit of a speed hump'', but stressed the Australian still had some very attractive options.
While Darchinyan might risk losing his IBF super flyweight championship if he chases a unification fight with Lopez, Nassar said they could possibly defer that commitment by offering Nongqayi a stand aside fee to defer his mandatory challenge.
Darchinyan's manager Nassar said his boxer would like to have a crack at another bantamweight champion with Japan's Hazumi Hasagawa (WBA) or Mexico's Fernando Montiel.
Nassar said American cable television network Showtime had set aside a November date for Darchinyan.
While the Sydneysider has had his last five bouts overseas, Nassar said there was some chance his next contest could be in Australia.
He wouldn't rule out the possibility of re-matches against Agbeko or Nonito Donaire, the only other professional to beat Darchinyan in the 33-year-old Australian's 35-fight career.
Nassar said Darchinyan didn't underestimate Agbeko and had a strong preparation, but ``imploded on the night''.
``It was just unfortunate he didn't stick to the game play and everything unraveled from that,'' Nassar said.
He said Darchinyan was well aware accidental head butts had played a part in some of Agbeko's previous bouts.
``It was just unfortunate that he got caught in the first round and it turned into a bar-room brawl instead of a boxing clinic,'' Nassar said.
Darchinyan admitted after the fight he had mistakenly reverted to his old style of trying to knock an opponent out rather than utilise boxing skills as he had in his previous two contests against Mexican super stars Cristian Mijares and Jorge Arce.

44 stitches ...FARK! I didn't realise he'd been opened up that badly.

If he moves back down he should prob stay ther for a while - I think he can be successful at either, provided he leaves behind the KO at all costs approach, it certainly won't do him any good if he stays at bantam and would have limited success at superfly.
C'mon Vic we know you can do much better, and will back you whatever you choose. Just fight smart please!
