im sure he is not very recognized exept against the fight with frietas which was filled with knock downs and slips. but this guy held the wbo with 17 title defesense! i know the wbo is low rent but thats could be a light weight record:deal
Not that good. Some of those decisions were controversial too, e.g. Zegan. To be honest, I haven't seen him THAT much of him, so I'm probably not the best to judge. Henry Armstrong defended the lightweight title 19 times, I think? And that was the WORLD LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE, not the WORLD BOGUS ORGANISATION. No record for Girgorian. Thank god.
Once read an interview where Grigorian showed up at one of Zegan's fights. After the fight they came face to face and Grigorian asked Zegan what his record was.Zegan replied 37 and 1 throwing that BS loss back in Grigorians face.Grigorian replied " you won that fight".
A champ makes a belt, and not an org, mate! At present the wbo title is better than the title of some other abc orgs IMO. As for Zegan he was robbed of a deserved victory against the Armenian. It was blatant robbery in open daylight. The Pole deserved to be called the victor against Grigorian. However,Grigorian won all his other fights fair and square. There were no other "controversial" desicions in the way that he truly deserved to be called the loser against one of his other defeated foes. Nevertheless the outcome of Zegan vs Grigorian was a shame. My blood is still boiling when talking about that particular fight.
I don't know how good he was...I've only seen the Freitas fight. Here is his record: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=005673&cat=boxer I do know that he was a pretty amateur boxer. I think he beat Sugar Shane Mosley in the amateurs.
