I think you can define his defensive capabilities as "voluntary" Doubt that it will be enough against Ortiz.
I dont think it is particulary good, i think his reflexes are excellent i think Ortiz is guna struggle to land something really flush but there are definatly guna be oppertunitys. The longer Wilder stays focused, stays cautious and jabs the safer he is. The minute he starts coming forward and getting giddy the openings for the superior techician Ortiz will appear.
He has been wobbled more times of the three champions but he has also fought more times. Some might argue that the level of guys like Molina, whilst very respectable, isnt that good enough to trouble a champion of the world. Molina found his punches getting through the gaping holes that we can see from our TV screens. Deontay doesnt have really good defence and he relies on his powerful shots as an attacking defence. He has a bit of footwork, you seem him using the ring. We have to remember he learnt boxing late in life and it shows. Considering that and despite his many flaws, hes done well. Some might say its because hes fought nobodies and I agree with this but we'll find out when he fights Ortiz.
Non existent. From what I've seen so far, wilder is clueless when he gets hit back consistently and panics; and that's when he starts windmilling. Example: the Wilder/Duhaupas fight. He was getting jabbed to death and didn't know what to do. Then the windmills came...
Defense is not good at all if anyone relies on height /reach and style to avoid not getting hit. Sooner or later competant fighters come along. If Ortiz is unable to use his legs he will lose for sure.wilder relies statying out of range not to get hit.He looked good against straight plodder Stiverne and somehow went backwards in looking better/sharper. Wilder is not overly hard to hit, which makes Ortiz a very huge danger to him.
I dont think he does, but he can. Ortiz has more than enough skill to win this thats really all the reason here.I want to see each training before i really make a choice,i would have to see Ortiz as fight time gets closer.
His defence is a good as his tweeting. Wild and Incoherent. He does have quick reflexes and general good speed though so grandpa Ortiz will need to be on his game to land flush.
He uses his legs and his punching power for defense . So its not good but good enough for this ERA of heavyweights but Joshua will make him pay for it. Joshua took Klitckos punching power im pretty sure he takes Wilder's but we will see Watch his highlights cause when a fighter usually fights a cert-en way in the Pros they stay the same unless they are May weather then they can change styles and defense Deontay Wilder ULTIMATE Highlights/Knockouts (29-0 ALL KO'S) Notice his hands down on the inside, a good counter puncher that can catch and counter will Knock him down or out with that poor defense and bad habits. But you have to be brave enough to counter him. You have to go to his body to take his legs away and when you fight him on the inside catch & counter him, cause his hands are down. You have to take advantage of his poor defense, it's fun to study fighters and come up with a game-plan like the trainers and then see if their trainers are using the game-plan you came up with. The way he often hangs his jaw out there is going to make me really nervous because I already bet quite a lot of money on him...
