His defence isn't as bad as some might think. He moves his head and upper body well, he slips shots all the time and he knows how to use his height and reach. But he has some big defensive flaws when being offensive. He squares up, over commits to punches and so over balances, puts himself in bad positions to be countered etc. He's at his most vulnerable when on the front foot.
Ortiz has to pull the triger wen he sees that opening, like Tyson or Holyfied and not be scared to get hit back. Learn to use his Defense to catch and counter like Tyson and Holyfield and other boxers would do. The question is will he do it, or are we all going to yell at the TV saying you have him throw the dam punch stupid . Then shake are heads after and say to are friends and on this board that all he had to do is let his hands go he would of won that fight Hmmmmm. We will see. Cause it's not hard to beat Wilder hes no Ali but he hits like a truck and thats what has got him this far. Lets see what he does when the other guy hits like a truck and can take his punching power and give it back. Then it comes down to skill not just power like it did when Joshua faught Klitcko we will see it wen Wilder fights Joshua cause Ortiz is not wining this fight not skilled enough Wilder's size and power and movement, those young legs that his team will have him use will aoutbox the hell out of Ortiz. Thats what i would do to Ortiz use my young legs reach movement and box the hell out of him using my Jab. And Ortiz will not no what to do he will look lost out there cause hes to old to chase him down and he will be to gun shy. To scared of getting countered cause Wilder punches will hurt like hell and make him do the dance.
Spotty....there are definitely holes that can be exploited by someone with comparable height and reach. He's rangy so it's hard for smaller guys to take advantage of his defensive liabilities
Ortiz got the reach and also boxing fundamentals on Wilder such as distance control. He Will make little headmovements outjab and frustrate Wilder all night.
Wilder's personal referee, judges and boxing commission will be there to help Ortiz as needed. Haymon will own the officials and the boxing commentators will be on his side, like HBO's Max Kellerman, Lampley and Roid Jones who are biased as hell for the house fighter.............
And here ladies and gentlemen is a none boxing reply to what i thought was a valid opinion on boxing matters. What are you a fukkin teacher? My spelling is bad i know thanks for the heads up though. And in reply to your paper thin boxing related observations im not really a Wilder fan i wana see him get knocked out just like everybody else does.
