I don't know much about him, just that he was a good fighter and trained Nate Campbell. I know he makes excellent mitt-work with his boxers. Is he also a well rounded technical trainer or is he mostly into offensive fighting?
I know he has an reputation as being an excellent trainer. Beyond that, in terms of his philosophy, etc., I'm pretty certain he's into well rounded fighting styles. I think Jackson likes to teach a fighter to do what comes naturally to him. In other words, if a dude is a natural boxer/runner/counterpuncher, then Jackson won't try to turn him into Joe Frazier. This is only what I've heard...I don't know much more. Jackson definitely has a huge rep, though.
that sounds good. means he has the knowledge of the technical side of boxing teaching an defensive fihter further tricks, but also shape an offensive strong puncher into an stronger one.... one reason I started that thread was, why Hopkins had 2 trainers for one fight. it was nazeem richardson as head trainer and guess david jackson as co trainer and than I tought why does he have 2. does he need for good mitt work, meaning david jackson and one for the techical game plan, meaning nazeem.
Yeah i thought he was Bernard Hopkins trainer alongside Richardson. Hopkins speaks highly of him. He must be very sound. He was a decent fighter himself. He fought Bernard Hopkins i think and lost on points and they became friends after that.
yup. also heard nate speaking very kind of him. I remember how touched nate felt when david gave him his house keys and nate could come in when he wanted and sleep at davids house, all this at the begining of the relationship.
