Forget about the Golota fights...Bowe was far past his prime by then. Just a mere shadow of his former self.

The difficult thing about rating Bowe on an all-time basis is that he had such a short prime: only a few years. For some reason, the dude just totally let himself go.

On every Bowe-Klitschko thread you will get people who think that Bowe was still in his prime when he fought Golata, despite the fact he was already slurring his words, he was grossly overweight & his relfexes were shot. Though faded & looking awful he still showed enormous heart.

Bowe at his best in 92-93 was hugely talented HW & the undisputed champ. He was well rounded with good fundamentals, a good chin & good power. he was probably the best tall inside fighting HW in history.

Against Wlad he wouldnt be afraid of getting hit to land in return. Wlad's usual cautious style wouldnt last for 12. Jab, jab, grab vs prime Bowe would not work.

Against Vitali Bowe wins on points in an exciting war if Vitali avoids an injury. I can see Bowe landing some sickening uppercuts against Vitali & beating him up on the inside

neither wlad nor vitali have ever faced a fighter of a prime riddick bowe's caliber. it's not even close. there's no way wlad would be able to keep bowe at bay for a full fight with his current fighting style, and bowe's size, greater versatility, power and inside fighting ability would see to it that wlad gets knocked out or knocked down at least as many times as he did against sam peter, en route to a devastating win for bowe.

vitali has the heart and will to make it a great fight even though prime for prime, bowe probably beats him in every category, with boxing ability being even and power being even. I see a war and a toss up, ruling out a tko on cuts in bowe's favor or vitali sustaining a fight ending injury.

Bowe's not an all time great heavyweight because his prime is too short and the suden fall off that he had after. However during that short time he's the best head to head heavyweight of all time. Bouts with both Klitchkos would have been intresting fights. Bowe in my opinion would have won both. He can match them both in skills and he had the one thing a lot of big heavyweights lack, a great chin.

Vitali wasn't "out on his feet" or "broken in half" you ****ing ******.

Vitali destroyed Sanders and dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement.

    Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis

    THE FACTS

Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis barely survived the 2nd round and almost got KO'd, he was badly hurt, holding on for dear life, wobbling everywhere and staggering around the ring like a drunk. Lewis was badly hurt several times in the fight and was getting outslugged, outworked, outmuscled, outlanded and outboxed by Vitali.

    punches landed

    Vitali 156

    Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.

After the fight, Vitali intimidated the **** out of Lewis and made him look like a *****. The whole crowd cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis.

    Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.

Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The gutless coward Lewis retired shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 40 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"

Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"

Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.

Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.

Vitali wasn't even in his prime yet.

Lewis was 37 and he wasn't "shot" when he got his ass whooped by Vitali.

Lewis was coming off the win over Tyson. In the Lewis-Tyson post fight interview Lewis stated "I'm like fine wine, I get better with age"

In an interview right before the Vitali fight, Lewis said "I'm at the peak of my powers, I will keep fighting for many more years"

Lewis was badly hurt several times, almost KO'd, outworked, outslugged, outmuscled, outboxed, outlanded 156-102, dominated and retired by Vitali.

Riddick bowe threw his title in a trashcan because he knew lennox would **** him up like he did in the ams, i think either klitschko would do the same. Bad style matchup for bowe imo

Vitali got robbed. The corrupt doctor and ref were on Lennox's payroll.

It should've been a TD win for Vitali.

    Official Scorecards:

    Pat Russell: Vitali 58-56
    James Jen-Kin: Vitali 58-56
    Tom Kaczmarek: Vitali 58-56

    Other Scorecards:

    HBO: Vitali 58-56

    Sky Sports: Vitali 58-56

    Lennox's mom: Vitali 58-56

dominated lewis? no fighter with a face like vitali's at the end of a fight dominated anything throught the duratio of that fight. it was a good back and forth brawl with the better, more physically durable man emerging vcitor. swallow it because you clearly never have.

Lennox "The Cowardly Lion" Lewis retired shortly after watching Vitali destroy Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and then call him out.

Lewis is a gutless coward and a fraud.

Vitali whooped his ass and retired him.

This must be the dream match. It gets pondered as much as any fantasy bout on ESB....Bowe was my all time favorite fighter. But I can see Vitali giving him fits. I'd pick him to KO Wlad late. However, I wouldn't be shocked if the opposite outcome occurred.
