    By what unit of measurement?

If say, you are using standard Mojo Units, with 1000 being the max (SNV of course), and 0 being the minimum, represented by say, Eric Crumble, then I would say Sergio rates at 599 Mojo Units.

of this generation very good. I dont think he will be massively remembered though - doesnt have that many great quality wins. Although i did feel he was tad over rated for a time. Around the time he fought Murray he was slipping badly

Took awhile for his career to get off and his style was never one for the purists a lot of movement and at times of balance. But he had good speed and punch out put and sneaky power not a KO artists but sparked paul williams clean.

    Good fighter

Considering his style and how late he started Boxing, and what he achieved, he was f*cking great.

  4. I'll never forget that Williams KO... Tore Pavlik up! Masterful against 37-0 Serhiy Dzyndzyruk too (who was a very good fighter)..

Beautifully gifted, slick southpaw. A great of our era?! Should we consider him alongside Manny, May, Wlad, Calzaghe, Hopkins etc.. I don't think he will be AS remembered, his reign was shorter, losses, close performances, lack of unification's & & not challenging for the other belt's etc but ya I think he is certainly a great fighter of our era... The Cotto & Murray fights will hurt him too! A worthy champion all in all tho..

Better than the men that beat him.

  6. I agree with that.. It sounds strange but overall it's true. Manny & Wladimir are two other examples of this..

Great fighter's just lose to ****ter ones sometimes!

He was very good. Champ is 2 divisions and a great record. Wins over Williams, Pavlik, Chavez Jr, Murray, Macklin, and some other top contenders. I believe he was the top P4P guy behind Pac and Floyd. Not a legend but a. Very good fighter.

What? All of Manny's losses except the first the Bradley fight was because they were better than Manny at the time.

His first two losses he was green. The Morales loss, he just flat out got beaten by the better man that night. The Marquez and Mayweather losses he was past prime and not as good as they were that night.

Was a big fan of Martinez I wouldn't say he's a great HOF fighter but a very good MW & Champ. He didn't really have enough high profile opponents for him to ever make that leap. I'd favor 2010-11 Martinez over every MW Champ right now though.

  11. I was referring to his early losses. Maybe I wasn't being clear enough..

OVERALL he became a greater fighter than those men! Same with Wlad.. That's what I meant.

Duran is another example of someone who lost to inferior fighters... In term's of overall accomplishment & how he is viewed historically, but those men can't hold a candle to him OVERALL but he still lost to them!

    It happens regularly.

I think exciting to watch, but as time goes by only fans from his era will remember him. Didnt become champion and stay champion long enough to be remembered longer

Very underrated and one of the best of this era. And like lefthandlead said, he's better than the men who beat him.

Remember watching his first televised fight against Buema and being shocked by his speed and reflexes like everyone else.
