something that was a very critical moment in both agapito and manny pacqaiou's carrers was their 6rd draw. if sanchez was not deducted two points for low blows then he would have won the fight.

how good was agapito sanchez? i know he was a dirty fighter that was short for his weight class.

Didn't he end up dying prematurely?

I know one fighter that went against Pacquiao and kept unmercifully fouling him ended up dead relatively soon afterwards...

Good enuff to always aim at Pac's balls and put him down on the canvass.

He was a very tough and dirty scrapper. He dropped MAB in their fight if I remember correctly. He was quite good at what he did but was unable to step up the next level.

Unfortunately I mostly remember him for the Pac and Guzman fights. Where he gave Pac a hell of a tussle but fouled often. Also was quite astonished by how good Guzman looked dismantling him and that fight stuck with me. It wasnt really a good fight to judge him on though because there were quite a few circumstances surrounding that fight that more then likely helped lead to his domination by Guzman.

He had been out for close to 3 years, his last fight being the Pacman TD.

The reason why he was out for so long was supposedly he was having eye troubles that never quite fixed themselves. Im pretty sure he failed an eye exam prior to the first time he and Guzman were supposed to fight. I want to say he had a detached retina but I cant remember exactly.

Also pretty sure there were reports he had trouble making the weight...which may be hard to believe for a guy his height but he was in his 30's by this time. And he was a notorious gym rat who never strayed that far from his fight weight, so if those reports are true then maybe he didnt train like he usually does.

Main thing is the layoff and the eye.
