Agreed. I, for one, can forgive Antonio for his mistakes - he is only human.

I agree with everything except that he definitely lost against Williams. My only question mark against him was the beating he took against SSM. Was it SSM on peds, mental problems resulting from the hand wraps, lack of training or just stylistic match up.

Aside he was one of my favorite fighters. Gutsy warrior. Could have taken a knee Cotto style against SSM but just wanted to go out on his shield.

Good post. Can you elaborate on why his loss to SSM was not legitimate? I always had doubts about the hand wtaps. All they had was a picture of a little piece of gauze. I assume you would want the whole wrap to harden over the fist to make a difference.

Not that good. Most notable win is tainted and since the Mosley incident put some serious questions around the legitimacy of his fights before that point.

That's a stupid argument. It's like saying you believe everything Trump says because he is president.

Do you believe that the US government really believed the WMD story that was the pretext to Iraq?

Firstly, don't believe what the media say. Secondly, don't believe what the major say, without your own evidence.

One final point. In the second fight against Cotto, with a dodgy eye, he started catching Cotto and then the Dr stopped the fight. Obviously he had no wraps in that fight. Too bad they didn't let that continue. It might have answered some questions.

I scored the Williams-Margarito match 115-114, Paul won no doubt, but Margarito closed very well.

I think all of the above played a part in the loss to Mosley, most importantly the lack of focus due to the handwrap situation, its kind of hard to concentrate on the match before you if you think your career may be over.

You're an idiot. Margarito is one of the toughest and strongest fighters ever to lace them up. You have no idea what real toughness is.

How can a fighter who has been laced thousands of times not notice any difference. C'mon that makes no sense.

Boy you really got Antonio there didn't you, he lost to 2 ATG's Pac and Cotto, HOLY ****, his whole career was a mirage.

Pac would have always beaten Margarito, but even without the supposed handwraps he still managed to break Pac's ribs and give him one of the worst physical beatings of Pac career.

Cotto won the first 7 or 8 rounds of their first fight too, the second fight proves nothing other than Cotto fought a little more cautiously and savvy and targeted his injured eye, and thankfully for Cotto his strategy worked and he forced a stoppage before Margarito could turn the tide.

    Decent....

Not really a HOF, not an ATG.

A world titlist, but never really transcended the sport in any way, and came up short in most of his biggest fights.

If had bricks in his wraps he would have been prosecuted for attempted murder.
