Yeah I think you're right and it was his father's influence. That being said, he should've overruled his old man and told him it was the right thing to do given how Frampton had fought him not once but twice in his country and with home country officials for both fights This is true but I believe that fighters are warriors and there is a certain code of conduct that goes along with that and one which they should either adhere to at least try to. If your opponent comes to your backyard twice and fights you on a deck heavily stacked in your favour twice and they want the trilogy fight in their backyard it's not only completely inexcusable and indefensible if you refuse to do so but it's an extreme violation of the warrior's code.
Excellent fighter.Beat Donaire, quigg,Santa Cruz,Avalos, monitor and Martinez x2.Martinez was on a fantastic run going into the rematch and was the defending champion so it was definitely significant and it’s first fight I ever attended back in 2014!
He openly ducked Rigo, can’t really give him a pass for that. He was a 2nd tier champion, don’t rate him h2h and he wasn’t the best in any division he competed in, Gary Russel Jr rated above him at 126.
The best from our wee country during my lifetime. I went to see him a load of times in The Odd. Yeah, we don't have much choice of greats or anything, but he's definitely a bit of a hero over here. Wee Barry was before my time, he reached higher level than Wayne McCullough. Love him, he was the guy to bring me and mates together from school or whatever.
He was great and he caused a lot of butt hurt by kicking Santa Cruz’s ass so much so that some gronks were rejoicing when Herring beat a shot Frampton.
