Brilliant fighter., Very good. Power, chin, toughness, stamina, underrated skills, always exciting to watch. Fought all the best fighters in his division didn't duck anyone, and beat almost of them apart from the great Andre Ward. 2 time world champ, unified belts. One of the best Uk fighters ever, and deserved inclusion to the hall of fame.

Froch was a quality fighter. Will go down in history as one of the best to come out of the British Isles.

What an entertaining fighter Froch was, would love if one of him was around in the UK today - exactly what boxing needs.

He was an over achiever. Solid skills allied with toughness and good attitude meant he had a great career. So he's one of our best based on his ring achievements. But he wasn't an elite level fighter, which isn't a knock because not many are. The question people always ask is who would win out of him and Calzaghe? I think Calzaghe would've made him look quite daft to be honest.

I agree. I do admire Froch as he came over crippling confidence issues in his early career, almost disabling levels of self doubt. It's amazing what he achieved in light of that. Due to his low hands stance I think people sometimes forget he was a good boxer too, you don't medal at world ams if you can't box. I think he can be a bit of a wally but who can't. And I am not sure if you know but he fought in front of 80,000 people....

    Arthur Abraham
    Jean Pascal

    George Groves x 2
    Andre Dirrell
    Glen Johnson
    Robin Reid

What a resume! Beat them all virtually back to back as well.

P4P is irrelevant with Froch. I loved him as a fighter. He wasn’t the best but he was very tough, fit and fought everyone.

It’s easier to appreciate a fighter like Froch now due to all the you tubers and prima donna’s involved in the game now.He was a top fighter and athlete.

Froch fought all the best and was very under rated as a technician, yes his style was brawly but if you analyse his fights you can see some really clever stuff in how he was able to turn fights with traditionally more skilled orthodox style fighters ij to "brawls". No shame in losing to Ward and probably gave Ward one of his toughest fights (even if it was a clear Ward win). Also it helps that his style was incredibly entertaining.

Kind of agree, he is under rated for his skill set as it was unorthodox, one of our best SMWs but yeah hard to make a p4p argument

He was elite level though ? He fought the best he could and bar the loss to Ward beat them all. I tend to agree that Calzaghe would of beat him but worth remembering when their was appeal for it only one of them wanted it.

Great fighter, tough as mails and goes down with Robin Hood as one of Nottingham's finest legends.

Ward had his number and I think he would have struggled against a prime Joe Calzaghe, another one of the British greats.

Also, and I might be wrong, he didn't pull out of fights. Unlike today's fighters he wanted to fight. Even the volcano exploding didn't stop him going to Scandinavia to fight Kessler. As much of a throwback as you can get these days.

A lots of truths already been said. Froch was a legit fighter and gives any SMW a tough night. Would have liked to have seen him fold Chavez Jnr before he called it a day but hey ho.

Always thought it was weird the way he went into the Bute fight as the underdog and people talking like it was retirement if he lost. Banjos him and probably has the biggest nights of his career afterwards.

I think due to his style being a bit ugly at times he was often overlooked. Many tipped Abraham to beat him and then he schooled AA.

The Bute fight is a good example of how good he can be technically, watch Bute fire the left uppcut into the body early in the fight and Froch blocked it and smiled. He knew what Bute wanted to do and stopped it then found hurtful combinations with good variety (which weren't always present in his early days) to put Bute on the back font and then close the show.

Top class fighter...While I think most people would think Calzaghe would win the fight if it had ever happened. Eubank V Froch, or Froch V Benn could have been fights for ages.
