He was good enough to keep Jones where he could get away with using steroids rather than face the pole in Europe.

 

Roy didn't have to travel to fight anyone when he was prime.

He had no intentions of going to Germany, and likewise, Dariusz had no intentions of going to the U.S.

Dariusz was a good fighter, and was very tough.

I can't believe that he dived in the Roch fight though.

That showed a mental weakness.

 

SRR didn't have, or need, to travel when he was prime. Didn't stop him though did it?

 

Everyone has a different set of circumstances surrounding them.

Roy's now travelling all over the place, trying to move up the CW rankings.

But when he was on top, with all the belts, he didn't have to.

Now his circumstances have changed.

 

Fact is that RJJ was the P4P best in boxing in that era, one of the biggest names in the sport, so if DM wanted to be on that level, he need to travel to the USA and fight RJJ. When you think of boxing in the 90s, you don't think DM, you think RJJ. Hence, I downgrade DM for his failure to come on over and take Roy on.

Just look at Dariusz's resume.

It's clear that after the incident with the belts, he was content to milk the WBO in Germany.

 

he was at least pretty good, and possibly very good, but we wont know if he was very good because rarely proved that elite level.

however, his longevity and commitment are outstanding.
