Back when he was still coming up but then became a champion and he was 122 I believe I dont recall if he was 118 or not but how good was he back then? Im sure he possessed some amazing power since he still had good power at a higher weight he probably just had more speed though... correct? :deal
He was great at all wieght classes. No one could beat him then. The only ones who stood a chance were the future hall of fame fighters he fought and lost to. A lot of people say Guzman was better at 122 but IMO Morales was.
He was unbeaten at 122lbs---including 1st fight with Barrera---took out the hard punching Junior Jones in 4-----Junior made a mess of Barrera [twice] :smoke :smoke
tough call against barerra in that fight though imo, in saying that it was a very hard fight to score. at 122 morales was a machine. speed wise as someone already said he wasnt as quick as pac.
Really? I thought Barrera owned him in that fight. In any case Morales was a something special in his prime superbantam days.
I'm a Morales man---but when I take the trilogy with Barrera---I"m happy with a DRAW over the 36 rounds ---though the result was 2 / 1 Barrera :smoke
Lotta people scored the 1st fight to Barrera & 2nd to Morales---just the reverse of the official results--:smoke
