Hey, sorry, I put the same link two times in my post..... There is this too: http://www.culturaesportiva.com.br/prodvar.aspx?cp=10013&np=eder-jofre-grande-campeao But again, I´m not sure if they send outside of Brazil.....
Pedroza compensated for the Zamora blowout and another stoppage loss by becoming a savvy (and dirty..I don't want to belabor that point) 15 round artisan whose power and strength was amplified in the later rounds. He made a fight such a gruelling and uncomfortable experience for most of his opponents that they just had to be glad to hear the final bell. Pedroza always seemed to have that super-determined game face on and just refused to lose...in 20 defenses. I admired him greatly and was assured that more times than not, his fights would go to the late rounds, with him displaying all the tricks in the book in combination with his great stamina to earn win after win. I was a big fan of Barry McGuigan too, but realistically, I think that Barry was extremely lucky to have faced the old man on the downside of his career...i think Pedroza was ready to be taken when Barry beat him. Pedroza was a class A champion...an old pro's pro.
Put your thoughts on the forum when you watch it Greg......Let us know your opinion, because I can´t remember very well if there is any highlight of Jofre vs Saldivar....... :good
I would've love to seen Eusebio give Bernard Taylor a rematch on neutral ground, like Las Vegas or London.
A great fighter, very skilled and crafty (also adept at using dirty tactics). He would have been able to hold his own with any featherweight in history.
Agreed. He was an overrated hugger/stinker IMO. He had to use every trick in the book to squeak out his fight with LaPorte, and I thought he outright lost at least one of his fights with Lockridge - and that was the best level of opposition he ever proved he could beat. I also thought he was getting as good as he was giving against a washed up Olivares before finally stopping Olivares late.
