    A very good actor.

He retired very young from the pro game (about 25 years old I think)

    His record stands at 23-2.

And he was ahead of Eubank on the scorecards, by one round on two judges' scorecards and two points on the other's, before he was stopped in the sixth.

So, has anyone seen him fight. What was his style, and how good was he?

saw his fight with Eubank on Espn ckassic a while back.

Just a good alround boxer from memory gave Eubank a hard time

I saw most of his fights at top level. He was a very good fighter, tall with a stiff jab and a good left cross (he was a southpaw IIRC) which was enough to beat most of his opponents but he just wasn't versatile enough at real world class.

    Certainly no mug though.

He looked a Million bucks at a British level, but I do not think he was that intrerested in the sport, when it come to taking it to the next level.

I was at Earls Court ( iirc ) when Gary fought Chris. He was really a light middle, he used his speed to box and move. He was doing ok for the first 4 , but Chris never got out of first gear, he knew he could end it whenever he wanted to. Which he did in the sixth.

There was talk of Gary fighting Mickey Rourke, Gary wanted to get into acting and Mickey wanted to get beaten by a good fighter ( he actually said that ). I was worried it might happen.

gary was decent but not strong enough to compete at world level

I'd echo what riggers said - he wasn't really a middle but was good domestic, maybe euro class.
I met him about 2 years ago, he's a top man.
If you haven't seen 'Dead mans shoes' go get it. Stretch is excellent in it.

I agree Steve. He was okay but not really special. Good looking kid not surprised he became a proper actor. Better looking than Robin Reid, Calzaghe almost as handsome as PBF and the Sugar Ray's.

He might have got away with it if it wasn't for your pesky post.
