how good was george benton?

    well lets hear some answers and also how would he fare in todays boxing?

    he was a decent fighter with some good numbers i think he was able to use his boxing no how and used it well while training fighters that being said if he were fighting today he would get clobbered:yep:think

    By all accounts, a pretty smooth stylist with good durability, and decent power in his fists. Legitimate contender throughout the late 50's and early 60's, but tended to come up a little flat against fighters he probably could have beaten (Carter being the most notable).

    Has some very nice victories over the likes of Hank, Giardello, and Little, among others.

    A motivated Georgie Benton quite likely wins a title without too much difficulty at middleweight these days, and while he might get outworked by Martinez, certainly wouldn't get outclassed.
