How good was Gerald "G-Man" McCllelan?

how was he outside the ring?

 

I can see what your saying to a point. Though do any of us really know for sure about G-man outside of the ring or is it just what we read and hear from "media" I've heard about the dogfighting and all that which is sick but who am I to judge somebody else. He without sin may cast the first stone.

 

He was known to be very cocky and from what i've heard he was very much into dog fighting

 

He was known for being a dogfighter, similar to Michael Vick. He'd purchase dogs from pounds for his vicious pitt bulls to tear apart while he taped the other dog's mouths shut so they couldn't even defend themself. All the while he timed it on a watchclock, and he did this often. You have to have a truly cold heart to do **** like that. That's why he has so many haters, and some calling his condition "karma".

 

His own people say this of him. And as far as judging, I'm pretty sure anyone can judge what is right and wrong, and just plain sickening, and what he did qualifies.

lol oh yea for sure man I hear you. Also I didn't read about his own people saying that about him. I get what your saying, I don't agree with what he did outside of the ring but kinda like the Vick situation I think its horrid to do what they did to dogs but at the same time I understand that to them its not horrid. Ehhh you kinda see what i'm saying?

 

It's re-reading **** like this that clouds my judgement with McClellan, I hate animal cruelty in every way shape or form. Having said that Jones isn't much better but I love him as a fighter so maybe I'm a hypocrite for slating McClellan and bigging up Jones. Actually there's no maybe about it

As for McClellan as a fighter....what truly shocked me when he fought Benn was that he didn't even seem to catch Benn flush once in that first round, yet still put him through the ropes :shock: Watch it if you get chance, Benn didn't catch a flush punch yet was ****ed up beyond belief. All this blaming the referee is bull**** though, I'm not a Nigel Benn fan by any stretch but he won that fight fair and square and showed massive balls in the process, his finest performance. Maybe McClellan had a pre-existing condition but Benn and the referee weren't to know that were they?

 

Ehh nevermind bro i'm kinda putting my foot in my mouth the more and more I think about it lol, the way I said that last post was like well if a child molester don't think its bad to molest children then I shouldn't judge them. I guess its just a soft spot I got for McClellan, and watching vids of the aftermath and the fight itself is very disheartening to me

 

I don't think anybody is blaming the referee for G-Man losing directly, I think Nigel would have won that fight regardless of refs, Go back and watch round 1 though and if you can get through that round without asking yourself what in the hell is the ref doing keeping them seperated (deliberatly) then I don't think you really get how a ref is supposed to do his job.
