Harry Greb fighting at 155lb after 24hrs in a Turkish bath reducing from 170lb is like Roberto Duran 72-78 at 130lb IOW Hollow shell

    :goodI'll take it!

Familar Pittsburgh rival Whitey Wentzel was also reported to have gotten the better of Greb on April 15, 1915, but MacPherson's Pittsburgh Post article reproduced on Wentzel's biography page makes it clear this was a very close encounter, so I opted not to include that event either.

Accepting your research could reduce the number of such episodes to a single digit, staggering for the number of total bouts he had.

I just have to comment that not only Tunney and Loughran, but also Mickey Walker and Kid Norfolk look great on film.

As a matter of fact, Bill Brennan looks pretty good on film against Dempsey.

    Ya I agree Matt,

    I don't know about Greb and Tunney being #s 1 and 2.

Greb did great as a light-heavyweight, but he is a very small one. His size might hurt him in h2h matchups the way it hurt him against Tunney in a few of their fights. Great resume though. Tunney was a great fighter, but he also never rematched Tommy Loughran after 19 year old Tommy took him to a newspaper draw. Do we know if Gene was truly better than Loughran? I rate them both in my top 10.
